hey guys i have a bum power supply. and my comp keeps turning off when i start playing games or running heavy applications..

my comp came with duel core amd 3800+ and a gig of ram. somehow they game me a 300 watt crappy power supply with it, which makes it imposisble to do ****, especially after having the comp for 18 months. now i have upgraded my comp to 2 gigs.

i just bought this game after being an avid total war fan since shogun. but i cant play the damn game cause of my power supply. everytime i launch the game, 10 mins later my comp crashes.

now my question is. if i go on newegg i can find a 500 watt power supply for 30-40 bucks.. seams kind of cheap, but would it be better than the 300 for sure?
