Default How is it possible to make a realistic LOTR and Starwars game?

do you think its possible to make realistic games out of such genere?.

For example what if the armor of stormtroopers can resit 10-seconds of non-stop fire from a minigun. And in LOTR strategy games what if they cast spells or the horses are magical like unicorns and can survive getting skewered. So im just if its possible to make realistic games out of these generes

If you're robbing a bank and you're pants fall down, I think it's okay to laugh and to let the hostages laugh too because, come on, life is funny.

Since both genres are entirely fictional I doubt either is actually "realistic" at all. Therefore it follows that a combination of the two genres will be just as realistic each is on its own, i.e. not.

First thing you'll have to do is define 'realistic'.

If you would state that realistic means that it should be exactly as in real life, then no game is realistic. Even simulators are not realistic, because for example if you would crash in a flight simulator you would not die.

If you were to say realistic means only visually the same as real life, then we're quite far from that technically speaking. After all, you can very easily see if something is real or not. Even if you would be able to get something on screen that looks like a photograph, you would still know you were looking at a screen.

If you were to say that realistic means the same as in real life in a behavioral way, then it will be quite hard too. A game often limits possibilities, even if you've got dozens of actions you could perform. And AI hasn't reached levels where it's indistinctable from real life yet either. Although you may be able to have the player perceive it as 'realistic' with relatively more ease than the points mentioned above.

Any way, it's a matter of definition first and foremost.

If realistic means the way things are portrayed in the lore of those both things, then yes, in theory it could be possible. But I am yet to see a completely realistic game, everything has its flaws.

Arakorn is right, there a many good games but with lore like in SW and LOTR, it's quite hard to put it all in and make everyone happy.

So just play a bunch of different games until you find one that suits you best is all I reccommend.
