    Default Threshold?

This might be a newbie question, but I have taken a look at the traits descriptions but I haven't figured out what threshold is.

Could someone please inform me on that???

The threshold is the number of 'points' towards a trait that the character needs to get to that level of the trait.

If you look at the triggers you will see they apply to the overall trait not the level. eg:
    Trigger V0060_Standard_Battle_Attacker_Clear_Loss_VnV_Trigger
    WhenToTest PostBattle

    Condition WasAttacker
    and IsGeneral
    and not WonBattle
    and BattleSuccess = clear
    and I_ConflictType Normal
    and BattleOdds >= 0.5

    Affects BadAttacker 1 Chance 50
that gives one point towards BadAttacker trait if it is triggered.
If you look back at that trait you will see:
    Trait BadCommander
    Characters family
    AntiTraits GoodCommander

    Level Indifferent_Commander
    Description Indifferent_Commander_desc
    EffectsDescription Indifferent_Commander_effects_desc
    Threshold 2

    Effect Command -1

    Level Incompetent_Commander
    Description Incompetent_Commander_desc
    EffectsDescription Incompetent_Commander_effects_desc
    Threshold 4

    Effect Command -2
that if trigger applied twice, character would get two points and reach level required to be Indifferent_Commander. Four points would make him Incompetent_commander. Points acquired towards the anti_trait, Good Commander would reduce the number of points towards Bad commander and if he dropped below the relevant threshold he could go back a level in the Bad Commander trait, ie. from Incompetent to Indifferent.

Some traits also have a NoGoingBackLevel that relates to same system - if character gets more points in a certain trait than that level, triggering the anti-trait won't any longer make him drop below that level.
