    Default Please help, cpu problem

I bought a game, starwars knights of the old republic. my computer meets teh minimum requirement in the processor at 1ghz, and is above the reccomended in ram and graphics card. when i go to play the game it says my processor does not meet the minimum requirement and that it is 999mhz not 1 ghz. is there anyway to fix this??

<HonorGlory> You weren't here when the deal between me and Octavian took place.
    <Aristocrat> deal?
<Aristocrat> Ill leave that alone actually
<Evariste> No I wasn't. Corrupt bargain eh? Maybe it's better to leave the past in the past.

Maybe it has something to do with the game requiring a CPU with SSE (a certain ability of cpu's). Don't know of KotN needs it but it's worth a check.

    specs:
    AMD sempron 1ghz processor
    512 ram
    ati radeon 9550

and i think its something with only the processor because i can start the game and make a character and it will go into the intro and then when the intro is done and the game is supposed to start it freezes and teh only way to close it is to close it in the task manager processes and then if i close it that way i have no start menu/menu bar when it goes to the desktop

Well, find out the specifics of your processor and head over to Google.
Or ask in the Overclockers thread.

I know **** all about overclocking, really.
