    Their logo isn't this, this is their self-entitled EP, but they have their logo on it (the words Arcade Fire).

    For who doesn't know them (yet), this will be to most of you "disknowers" a great & brilliant surprise. It's one of the best indie bands around, they started in 2003 and their first album came out in 2005 (it's called "Funeral"). The media and their fans loved this great release. The music industry started to shake their heads and take a look on this hot new sound that was coming from Canada, specifically Montréal, Québec.

    --> "Funeral": the 1st Arcade Fire album.

    Some years later,came recently this giant production entitled "Neon Bible".
    --> Their second album, "Neon Bible" was highly aclaimed by many fans, media and other artists, such as David Bowie.

    The whole band I think, posing.

    It is said that they're the new promise, that they're going to "renew" the new rock scene, like Nirvana did in the 90s with the grunge and Sex Pistols with the 70s punk scene.

    The well-known artist Owen Pallett has even played with them on a tour as the violinist!...

    The band in 2005 with their post-punk style, I may say.

    In this vid, you can see Win Butler (vocalist) smashing up the guitar:

    Nice post highlighting a great band, +rep

    I'll be seeing them in Chicago in a few months, I'm already pumped for it. Tickets went so fast as well...after we bought them, we went back to the page and they were gone! :o

    I have Funeral. It is a great album. I use to play it at work just to annoy my coworkers. All I told them was they were an Indie band and they immediately hated them.

    Their lose. Great band! Listen to them!

    Dear 3mpty,

    Congratulations on this new thread of yours, it looks like you had some work to find these things.
    They seem to be a pretty interesting band, I'll listen to the Neon Bible (that I have) and check them out.

    Your Friend,
    Phil

    PS: Rep for your work.

    @The Fuzz
    I'm also goin' to see them here in Portugal. And my cousin is even going to interview them!... It'll be awesome, I know... I'll be seing them in Super Bock Super Rock, a well-known local festival.
    Ah, and thanks for the rep, indeed. If you want some I will finely give it to you. The thing is that some people just want rep when they only do something good, like a huge post/thread with sense. So, I'm uncertain if you want. Anyways, PM me if you want.

    @Visigothe
    I have Neon Bible and Funeral. Both are great!... I don't even know what's the best one. I may say, like Neon Bible. One fact I love about them, is that they have an artistic sense in what they do, visually and musically.

    @Lord Sigilus
    Thanks again for the rep and for what you said about the thread. If you want, I can also give some to you, has I said to The Fuzz. Yeah, it took some time to organize all the info and compact it.

    Right now, hehehe. I just wanted to say that they're great, because they played with Bowie and U2, that's not for everyone!

    Hope you like these vids since they're playing "alone" with no other bands/singers and not covering anything.

    Hehe first time I publicly comment on giving rep and it turns into a rep fest!

    @empty--Wow, mad! Hope it's a great show!

    @vizigothe--I hate how many people are turned off right away by the term 'indie band'. They seem to confuse it with emo rock and the likes, even though indie is very different.

    What I enjoy about indie bands is their use of "unconventional" instruments. It also means that my parents are more than partial to listening to it when I visit home. Plus my dad is a huge Bowie fan.

    Neon Bible is no Funeral. Has it's moments. The opening track is absolutely rubbish.

    I purchased Funeral when I was looking through the Recommended Listening section of the indie webcomic www.questionablecontent.net . Loved the album a lot. I was looking into Neon Bible, and people were saying that it wasn't such a good album.

    Hehe, thanks for the rep, Nihil.
    And The Fuzz, thanks again for the rep, about the band, I'll probably film 'em, if I have chance or even have some autographs, I can ask my cousin since he'll interview them!...

    @Socrates
    I've got Neon Bible, probably one of the first guys here in Portugal to have it, hehe, and it's good, the first song, Black Mirror isn't that good though. But it has No Cars Go and other great stuff. Probably you'd like more Funeral, I dunno, depends on your musical taste.
