In your virtual store/sega/ medieval ii total awr folder very well hidden from prying eyes. In my computer use the search function for it.

I just bought a new laptop with Vista preloaded. I'm trying to find the save game folder, and found a post in the first page of the thread telling you how to access it. I've gone on my user file and found the directory, but when I get to the folder entitled "Virtual Store" I just draw a blank (ie: it's an empty folder). Hidden folders seem to be enabled so why is there nothing there?

Nvm - Realised that this directory is only created if a save file is actually there.

Btw, anyone have any idea what possesses Vista to hide these files? Its godamn annoying that I should see hidden files and i'm not!

The answer lies in all the yelling at Microsoft about lack of security. This is Vista's security layer to pacify the rest of the world.

Here is what it looks like in XP: C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data\unit_models. In Vista, if not there, look in the virtual store folder.

Then I'll bet you it did not unpack all of it. Only about 24,000 of over 36,000 files that get unpacked. When it was unpacking, we're you watching it scroll by? If not, you probably missed it.
Vista is notorious for it. How to get them all, read this: http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showth...npacking+vista.

Do you have adminstrative rights to it?
Did you check your folder options to unhide all hidden and system files?
    Believe me, it's there.

I'm asking because I uninstall the M2TW and I can't find where are the files I have to delete manually. In these locations, there isn't a Sega folder or something like that. So, I installed again, but when trying to install Kingdoms that I can't upgrade to patch 1.2 or something like that.

This one is not Vista related.
Do you have the gold edition or buy them individually?
Are they retail box or download?
    Are they the same language?
Did you modify a file before trying to install Kingdoms?

Then it just maybe a bad install if both set of discs are good. I would at this point uninstall everything all over again, delete the two Sega folders, the one in virtual store is hidden unless you unide it, clean the registry, and then install, Medieval, install Kingdoms, install the Kingdoms patch if you have it downloaded. The 1.2 patch and the 1.3 patch are on the Kingdoms discs all else fails.
