Avast Virus Scan declares mod file xyz.exe as trojan !!!!!

When i did a virus scan my avast Scanner identifies the RiseofKings.exe as a spyware (generic tojan) and the alarm went on ! Also with other mod files it happen the same !!!

Why is it so ?? Are this files Trojans ????

Who knows what is the matter with that ???

They are not trojans. Your anti-virus/anti-spyware program must just think they are because it does not recognise it as a safe program.

avast can't make this kind of mistake, it works without euristic controls, it finds viruses using only its archives of verified malware...
sorry, but we need a different explaination...

Well none of these mods are malware so probably because mods contain an unsigned as it were .exe Avast doesn't let them work. None of the mods have trojans in them, i just checked.

Hi i posted a similar thing the other day...and that was also with avast.

With the road to jerusalem mod it went berserk "warning warning"

So i didn't bother with the download.

However, when i downloaded your Lands to conquer mod it was fine, and i use that now.

Strategy informer was where i got it from as i have never liked filefront.

So you mean that the file i donwloaded was really infected ???

How can this be if i use the "original" down link pathway from this forum ???

Or is there something wrong with filefront ?

The files are not infected, i checked them myself with 3 different virus scanners.

hi,
i download regions&provinces mod a second time: it isn't infected...now.
was an avast's false positive?...is it possible that it is happened in 3 different mods at the same time?...might it be that has endured in twcenter an intruder and the administrators have cleaned up it?...i don't know and I wouldn't want to believe this...better however that we scan our pc, on safe boot, with all defences...whichever case is happened, i think that in this site now it is all ok.
