(Moved to Vote) Medal Proposal - Triumphs.

Greetings Citizens. As many of you are aware I proposed and ratified a medals system which will apparently be fully implemented within a month or so, I trust that the administration will do all in its power to make this medals system a reality as soon as they can. I proposed the system so that we could move away from bothering and dithering about Sub Section three of Article four of verse 69 of the constitution. This monotonous tedium might be the pastime of those who want to turn the curia into their own personal practice arena, but as has become evident, most of us don’t care.

I was very happy that Asterix won his election and is our current Speaker; indeed it is his comic and relaxed attitude which prompted me to vote in support of him and both him and Tactical have shown us that the vast majority of citizens enjoy threads such as those of Tactical and those in the Symposium opened by Asterix and our beloved Manji. It is interesting when one notes who dislikes these threads and the fact that some individuals who rather jump on administration and patrician alike about every sentence in a document most of us have not even read through properly. How many of you actually bother to learn the Syntagma when its reformed every Tuesday?

Thus Asterix proposed a new tradition and I want to expand it into something the Curia can enjoy. I know that since I was nominated this could be seen as self glorification but I assure you it is not and if this proposal is labeled self glorification I am willing to ask for my “honour” to be cancelled.

Thus I propose to the House the Addition of Two Medals –

Golden Laurel Crown – Any citizen can propose another citizen for the honour of having a triumph provided he has the support of 10 other citizens. The individual nominated must accept the offer and the case must then be submitted for ratification by the CdC. A simple majority of non abstaining CdC members is required for the event to be held. Once a Citizen is awarded a triumph a thread is opened in the Curia by the Speaker of the house awarding the crown. The thread will remain open for a minimum of one week. Not more then two Triumphs may be held a month, one member may be awarded more then one triumph in his/her lifetime.

Golden Modding Laurel – Any Modding team which a part of the community may be awarded the honour. The honour is awarded by either the Council or a simple majority of non abstaining CdC voters. Any member can nominate a mod for the award and if awarded a thread will be opened in the Curia honouring the mod and its team. From that Pont onward the modding team is allowed to use the honour in advertising and may be awarded gifts such as interviews and exposure. A modding triumph is also to be announced on the front page.

Come on guys, should inject some fun into the curia. hehe

Well i like the idea but i have a question.

If a mod is awarded a "golden modding laurel" will all members of the team be able to wear it? Will it be limited to just the mod leader? Or will it be worn by no one and recognised as the mod's medal?

Secondly, the medals system is a ratified institution of TWC. The triumphs aren't. I really don't want to bog dow the triumphs by having to ratify the triumphal idea just to get the medals for them allowed. However im pretty sure someone with a better legal/technical eye than myself might just suggest such a course of action.

Have you ever seen the PC gamer medals, where like RTW holds a gold one which is printed on the initial loading screen and also on the box? Like "PC Gamer Must Buy" that sort of thing.

Second, the proposed medal is simple, it only needs 10 people in support and something similar to a civitates vote, though this will mean that it takes longer ( a week perhaps) it also ensures that we dont have too many at one go and also that the ones that are held are, actually popular.

Question: How do one actually acquire the modding laurel? Is it again a citizen proposing it? I'd guess that in that way, it'd be too easy to actually gain it.

It should therefore be more strict, such as forming a group of modders/players which then objectively (?) decide if a team is worthy or not.

OR perhaps it could be awarded through the Modding Awards, such as Most responsive team and Outstanding Achievment?

I suppose anyone can nominate, but Hex or CdC ratify which makes it kinda strict.
