Okay, do me a favor. Click on Start (in windows) and click on Run. Type in DXdiag. This will bring up the DX Diagnostics. Give it some time to finish running its tests (you can see a progress bar in the bottom left). Once that bar disappears, the diagnostics is done. Then click on the "Save All Information" button and save the text file to your desktop.
Now, open up the text file and copy the entire text. Come here to the forum and click on Add Reply (none of that quick reply nonsense). Click on the # icon, which will insert tags that say CODE. In between the brackets paste the copied info from the DXDiag.
It should look something like this:
Code:

Then we'll see what we can do.
Also, you could just disable the movies in the game. I'm not sure where though, off hand. I'm at work so I can't exactly check right now.
Edit: Found it: "Editing the medieval2.preference.cfg file in the game directory, by changing "event_cutscenes = 1" to "event_cutscenes = 0" (without the quotes) fixes the problem. Of course, you can't see the cutscenes, but at least it doesn't crash now."
