Default What kind of performance should I get?

    My rig is:

    Windows XP SP2
    Pentium D 2.80GHz
    1024MB DDR2 PC2-4300 RAM
    Radeon x1600 pro 512MB DDR2

Right now I have everything but shadows, unit detail and textures on high, with no AA and Trilinear AF. At 1024 768 or whatever res. I get about 20-30 on some pretty intense battles. Is that about right, or should it be worse/less/More?

    I'm sorry, but 20-30 what?
"There is a difference between what is wrong and what is evil. Evil is committed when clarity is taken away from what is clearly wrong, allowing wrong to be seen as less wrong, excusable, right, or an obligatory commandment of the Lord God Almighty.

Evil is bad sold as good, wrong sold as right, injustice sold as justice. Like the coat of a virus, a thin veil of right can disguise enormous wrong and confer an ability to infect others."

20-30 frames per second of course,or fps.I have the same configuration, only with Leadtek GF7600Gs.And i'm not very happy about performance too.I think it's not problem in our computers, but game wich does not support our dual core processors. On official forum of Medieval II you'll see that many people have the same problem. The thing is,i didn't find for solution yet.I can only hope that patch 1.2. will solve that. You can try to solve it by going on official forum ( http://totalwarforums.com/ ),go to support requests, and find stickie Dual core fixes and optimization. It may help you,but it didn't help me.

Another gig of RAM might help, but the CPU is a bottleneck, unfortunately. Overclock it?

I have a dual-core AMD and I don't have the issues that everyone else seems to have . . . and I don't know why exactly.

20-30fps isn't too bad considering. You can still run it, ya know. If you were getting 5-10fps, that would definitely be an issue.
