Archers issue

I have noticed in my campaign with the byz empire that when under siege my archers are simply idle
it can also happen in a open field battle and only when i move them they start to shot and only some of them
is this a known problem , does anyone here also noticed it ?

Most importent , is there a fix for this thing ??

mine get stuck in "reloading" when shooting from the walls of my castles, very, very annoying. they only work when I bring them down into the courtyard and shoot over the walls blindly with them.
