    Default Dual Core problems

I suppose there has been some threads like this but i can't find any,and i can't find solution.I have Leadtek GF7600gs,Intel Pentium D 820,2.8 ghz clocked to 2.95 Ghz and Kingmax 1x1024 mb DDR2 ram. What i had is this configuration only with Intel Pentium 4 1.6 Ghz and Kingmax 4x256mb ram.The problem is that i bought this new processor and ddr2 ram becouse i tought it will increase performance in Medieval II but it didn't.I saw that some people on Medieval 2 official forums had same problems, and they were given a solution to download update for Windows xp sp2,kb (i don't know numbers, but there was some update),i downloaded it but it still doesn't help.Medieval II runs on my new dual core processor same as it run on P4 1.6 ghz.Does anyone have solution or same problem?Or shall i have to wait for patch 1.2. which will come out when Dukem Nukem Forever comes out?

I have not seen this problem. I built a new dual core system using the same graphics card. It runs much better for me than on my previous machine. Sorry I could not help.

You should get a performance boost, but pentium D are a terrible line of processors.

Yeah, Intel C2D is what you want. They're cheap and they can be overclocked better than most other CPUs.Problem is, you'll need to buy more ram and another mother board >.<

If you are getting poor performance then you may want to lower your settings, your computer isn't capable of running everything maxed.Unfortunately you need a beast to get this game to run smooth with maxed settings.I cant even get a decent frame rate while maxed most of the time (it's awful during sieges) and I have a an AMD x2 3800+ @2.10, 2gb of ram, and a 7800gt.Also, consider lowering the unit size as well, you may be able to keep some eyecandy by lowering the scale. It wont look as epic but the units will look more realistic.

don't use bloom either, maybe even disable shadows. You can probably get good performance and still have realistic looking units if you disable or lower any settings that aren't 100% necessary.

No,it's not that,it's only problem in Medieval II.For example,i run Company of Heroes at max details at 100 fps max, while average fps is 50-70 and min 20 fps.I run Oblivion at very high settings without lag,and R6:Vegas at very high settings without lag,and even STALKER runs fine at all maximum settings and anti-aliasing with only minor lags.I don't think Medieval II is so hardware-hungry,do i?It can't run same on Dual core like it run on P4 1.6 ghz, that processor is four years old.But there is something funny. It goes excellent on maps like Sahara, and all those desert-like maps,in custom battle. But in maps which have trees and lot of vegetation fps goes down.

Go here and attempt the things in the first sticky. That's you're only best bet here. It's the game's issue, not your's so much.

At least enjoy the performance boost on Oblivion, right.
