Since the Rome AAR thread was closed due to inactivity, I'll start up from where I left off. (You guys made this mod too addictive!)
Here's the last screenie that I posted before the thread being closed:
I'll have my present-time one up in a few minutes along with an explanation of current events.
TSE has almost lost it's entire empire, mostly due to bribing armies, bribing a few cities, and plain old army domination. I've made quick work on the Seleucids, with armies being made Patavium, Mediolandum, Carthage (which has been halted, due to the Seleucids being kicked out of the surrounding area.) Pergamum, Alexandria, and the settlement near Antioch. Most of the settlements left by the Seleucids are ranging from lightly defended to a full stack, depending on the importance of the city. This is making it a pain for the larger cities, what with the full stack and all. The settlement to the south of Jerusalem was the worst. I had to crank out 4 full stacks to combat the 6 full stacks defending the town. It was eventually taken over, but one of my stacks was reduced to half it's original size. I have then proceeded to send the 5 stacks (with the 5th being from Alexandria) to Arabia to wipe out the remaining free people/TSE towns that have been hiding from me for quite some time. Soon, all of old-Seleucia will under my command.
The Sarmatians were silently taken out by the Parthians. I have realized that it was going to be a few turns before they attacked me, so I made a few full stacks (mostly comprised of auxiliary units) to block bridges to wait halt the advance the Parthian advance had been taken. Fortunately, non has been taken. A diplomat of mine (that was in a Seleucid city I bribed, and also received 5 spies) bribed 3 or 4 of the cities and most of the full stacks, leaving them wide open for invasion. This will happen right after TSE is taken care of and cease to exist.
The Carthaginians (which I almost forgot about) were slowly taken out of Hispania from both bribes and continuous armies from Mediolandum, Patavium, and random Roman Scutarius armies being made by various Gaelic cities. They were lazily destroyed in Africa also, since they hardly posed a threat once Carthago was taken and I could make legions.
Syracuse was a different matter. After taking half of Corsica, they sent 6 full stacks over to Carthago that I had recently conquered. I was dissapointed that they didn't do anything, with it being besieged only two times; the first being the Carthaginians and second being the Free People. Both were easily taken care of.
Syracuse wasn't doing anything in Africa, so I was the first to attack. I quickly took their lightly defended cities (which all 3 were comprised of one governor) and Sicily was easily mine. The Syracusians full stacks watched, apathetic. Then Corsica was taken. All 6 of the stacks turned into rebels, since Corsica was their final city.
The Free People have been dealt with easily in all their cities, with most being taken by auxiliary units and a few being bribed. They still haven't given up, and proceed to spastically besiege my cities. Nothing too bad, though.
