Default NTW2 development continues, and some other news!

    Hello all!

We know that things have been quiet for a bit, but rest assured more free stuff is on the way from the Lordz Modding Collective!

First off will be another update to NTW2, this time bringing the forces of Spain to the battlefield!

Here is a single WIP shot; more to come!

    Also we will be doing some smaller tweaks and some new, more clear unit cards... here is a quick example;

    The British:

    The French:

Beyond this next expansion more is coming as well, including the armies of Portugal and possibly the might of the Ottoman Empire and the steadfastness of some of the Scandinavianlands!

On the non-Total War front, we have also brought on board the talented Lord Roglea, who has worked tirelessly with the Take Command engine and is creating Take Command: Napoleon! This single player engine is the PERFECT compliment to Total War; where NTW2 focuses on Multi Player, Take Command focuses on Single Player. Where NTW2 focuses on the fast and fierce ways of combat, Take Command: Napoleon focuses on the natural evolution of battle. And where armies are lead by the heroic Generals in NTW2, the entire army structure is simulated in Take Command, from Army and Corps commanders down to the lowliest Brigadier General. We are thrilled to be bringing you a mod outside the usual Total War work we have done over the years, and hope that a great many of you will look into this wargame, the BEST single player wargame that has been made to date!

To whet your appetites, a screenshot or two of some WIP:

    FIRST, some Portugese troops...

    Next, some British Light Dragoons...

    And finally, a French Brigade...

We hope that this wargame will appeal to the hardcore tabletop gamer as well as the player who is looking for the most in-depth, yet intuitive Single Player Napoleonic experience possible!

Spanish front? i like it!!!=) can we expect The Portuguese forces? they were really important, both in the spanish campaign, as well as in the Defense and balance of Power in the Region. I know that the Portuguese forces were not the top notch at the time, but they stoped the french Armies at bay countless times, even though they had some english suport sometimes, Besides, portuguese forces went into spain to help the spanish defend their country in various ocasions. the portuguese maps, would be more than a challenge to experienced players as the battles took place in rugged terrains like mountains, hilly areas, being extremely good for defending, and to try to take by force. and Lets not forget the possibility of some 1810 Bussaco maps=p that battle was massive. what do you think at lordz?

Ps as for the Portuguese forces belonging to the Take Command Project, i have to say that you spelled Hunters wrong.... its not "Cacadores"(like you have in the screen...that means the-makers-of-fecal-matter in some areas of Portugal), but spelled "Caçadores", wich is the Portuguese word for Hunters

There are no plans right now to release anymore scripted battles in NTW2 for the RTW engine.

@Iberus_generalis, I will let Lord Ashram field this one, but do not worry they are taking great pains to mould the TC engine to Napoleonic warfare as best they can. If you would like more information on the TC:N project, please visit our subforums set up speically to field questions such as these-

Spain will be releases when it's ready, and the fact that some skins are ready, doesn't mean that both Spain and Naples are done.

Vimes had never got on with any game much more complex than darts. Chess in particular had always annoyed him. It was the dumb way the pawns went off and slaughtered their fellow pawns while the kings lounged about doing nothing that always got to him; if only the pawns united, maybe talked the rooks around, the whole board could've been a republic in a dozen moves. -Thud!, Terry Pratchett
