I really want to fix "celebrating without sound"!!!

Hi, I salute you.

I think this is not easy question, because many modders have this problem also. Many Great mods have many 'no voice units' and I thought if there is no voice, it would be no celebrating voice or charging voice.

But in the game, it's very depressing moment watching silent charges or celebrations.

I tried some fix in sounds folder and some documents but I can't.

Please Help Me.

i dont think this belongs in the tech help section, as he is not having trouble with his game, but rather is asking how to add the vanilla sounds to (new) units in mods, so as to improve the atmosphere. Hence this is a modding question, most likely related to RTW, since I don't believe he is talking about M2TW mods, as they don't really have "new" units, just new skins.

you are right, it is not a simple question, and it surely involves more than just moving sound files... unfortunately, I don't know how to help you, as I have not had any experience with sound files, or coding them... you can try looking for tutorials on this, otherwise, you will probably have a hard time achieving what you want...

You are right. I don't have any troble in playing game, I just have some troble modding game. In addition, I am just playing RTW not M2TW, so I don't understand why this belongs this section.

Anyway thanks for concerning, I will try to wait other answers.

Just enter the EDU unit's type under the descr_sounds_units_celebrate.txt type line in the culture of your choice...and make sure, as with all sound modification, you delete or rename the events.dat file in the sounds folder. Simple!

events.dat merely stands afaik as a static compilation of the sound text files which the game reads. In its absence the game looks to the actual sound files - clearly, then, for modded changes to take effect the events.dat must be removed. There is no harmful effect.

There are plenty of audio coding tutorials and threads scattered about. I'd suggest you use the highly organized tutorial database at the Org and look up the appropriate category (Music, Sound & voices in this case):
