First I want to say I used to use this mod before mtw2 was released, but recently my pc lost ram so I can only play rtw not mtw2 for the time, so I installed darthmod after some trouble with my downloading.
What I notice about the battles, particulary when using greek armies with phalangites, is that it seems more strategic, and I'll explain with the following images...
The image right here shows two armies of let's say pikes and cavalry for each, the black army on one side, and blue on the other, where you see the squares, let's pretend those are pikemen, and where you see the circular images those will be cavalry, and where you see the arrows pointing from a colored unit, that will be where the unit is moving to...

Now in this next image, the units have made it to their destination, and where you see the brown line connecting the black and blue units that means they are engaging in melee.

So my point is that I've noticed battles behave like this, where you can take 1 or very few units and command them to one spot while the enemy does the same, instead of vanilla rtw or other mods where the units all just charge at once... hence Darthmod has more strategy.![]()
(sorry if my images are confusing I'm not used to drawing out that kinda stuff.)
