See you around in the Curia, hopefully you will have more time to post free from the contraints of staff.
For some reason that I can't understand or explain, I find this resignation deeply harrowing. People resign all the time, some of them people who I consider friends, yet Asterix (who I don't know all that well, but do know to be a gentleman of fine breeding and unimpeachable character) resigns and it...bothers me.

Huh ho, what? After all this time are you telling me that putting "Asterix" and "resign" in one post does not, in fact unleash the forces of hell to destroy mankind?

"It comes as a shock to many as another beloved leader resigns his office. King Ian accepted his resignation and declared a national day of mourning. Flags fly at half mast, women weep in the streets, men shake their heads in shock, and everybody prepares for a solemn, quiet ceremony. A procession of Royal Guards escort Lord Asterix to the Temple of Siblesz. There, he made a final sacrifice to the all powerful. Then, with a tear in his eye replaced his purple toga for one with a dark blue border. A new portait was hung in the Hall of Senators. And so ended Lord Asterix, another reminder of the Imperial Period and the following occupation by ON. It is rumoured that he gave a small speach to the assembled citizens in Curia Square, but no reporters were allowed in for security reasons."
*The camera pans and viewers watch a flag of the Kingdom wave at half mast as the last chords play..."
