Discussion and formulation of a bill on Senatorii

I have long seen and I still see the need for Senatorii to be more than retired staff (especially now). I want to brainstorm here what could be done to achieve the following three goals (or other related goals you can think off) with small Syntagma tweaks:

1) Make the rank of Senatorii open to other veterans (not only of staff)
2) Give Senatorii a small but usefull privilege (for instance for instance more access or reputation)
3) Find a new and more involved roll for the rank

Let me know what you think please....

why? I'd rather get rid of Senatorii and make Patricians a more improtant/useful rank. Only thing a senatorii has over anything else is some experience of moderating and maybe admin. Other than that it is fairly meaningless and i don;t see why it should be more 'special' than patrician.

Not more special Tac, but I would like the tradition of Senatorii needs to be kept...

Not insinuating them to be more special, but rather different, one rose through the ranks of the Curia and the other through the ranks of the staff... I just think Senatorii is a misnomer

ok, but all I'm saying is that other than moderating Senatorii don't bring anything to the party that patricians don't. So why have something special for senatorii and not patricians?

i'd like to see patricians become a more important rank.... bear in mind senatorii is purely honorary... its awarded as a reward for past services...

i did envision the tribunal being the domain of the senatorii, and that being a senatorii only privilige but the senatorii themselves failed to step up to the plate there. i simply don't think enough of the senatorii are active enough to warrent this, and with the changed requirements of the rank so that non of the current junior mods who havn't retired and been rehired (like Lusted) will get it, this will only continue.

given what the rank is for... i'm quite happy with it remaining as it is.
