    Default Too Slow!

Sorry! but though I think what you have achieved with your Mod is commendable the campaign map is just to slow. I have followed instructions, downloaded net framework etc. but I have given up and gone back to the original game. Sorry again

OK! I'll take your advice and chill out. It is an extremely good mod and I have enjoyed it. Maybe I'll try a different faction and not the mongols. Not much to think about out there in wilderness land, just waiting for my buildings to complete and conquer the occassional rebel base ZZzzzzzzzz!

    Excellent answer :hmmm:!

To be honest, the mod really is great, but the campaign is not slow, it's major-league lagging!! Of course, but I think in this case "blitzing" is not the issue! Even on really low campaign map settings I still encountered a noticeable lagg...no way to fix it?...viel zu langsam rep.!

And actually I'd rather enjoy my girl with the screen turned off

First: Hey to all! My first post but i read the forum for a long time. And i played the mod since release. Great job btw

    On topic:

To turn down lag, don't select an army, spy etc. The waypoint-calculation needs lot of cpu-power...

But my cpu-turns are very slow. From the start I had to wait several minutes.

If you select an army and move around the map it starts to lag. The lag becomes worse the farther (with your cursor) you're away from the selected army.

My CPU is not High-End (Athlon64 3000+), but should'nt have a problem with the campaign-map.

    It's a bigmap issue

I've always had problems with DLV and the lag issue. I love everything about DLV, but the slowdowns and constant lag, having to wait 5-10 minutes after pressing "end turn" before it's my turn again, etc, have caused me to try and find other similar mods to use. I've been told in other topics that it's not neccessarily the problem of the map being so big, but it has to do with additional graphics that DLV has, like mods for the skies and things like that. I'm not a modder and I have no idea what files affect the graphical side of DLV, so if one of the DLV modders thinks that this could in fact be a reason for slow down, can they recommend some extra files from the mod that can be removed that would increase performance? Me personally, I don't care much for extra graphical improvements, I'm fine with the generic vanilla graphics and sky textures, etc, and the biggest draw to DLV for me is the career system, extra ancillaries and traits, and things like that.

I have found a good way to pass the time during the campaign turn. The role playing part got me thinking, as well as playing certain generals a certain way. So I decided to chronicle the events and battles of my fledging Kingdom of Denmark.

i always figured the problem was a combination of bigmap and longer movement rates. ive played mods with bigmap that did not increase the movement rate and they did not have a slow down between turns.

the main problem is that with 2.0 too many armies are created on the bigmap later in the game because of the money overflow for the AI.
DLV 2.1 the number of AI armies and ships later in the game will be reduced so at the moment i have 2 min for each turn at 100 years into the campaign on my laptop.

    Sounds good Rep!

I myself experience the greatest lagg when I move my armies, not when the AI moves their's! Might be the same issue though...thx anyways

Read somewhere about removing the garrison script for those who want to make the turns faster, but cannot seem to find any specifics.

    Can someone help?

You can always do what I do and read a book. It helps pass the time, especially if you have a good book and love to read.

I do not experience the same time lag problems that others have mentioned. I have a pretty much high end computer and I experience say 30 seconds to a minute between turns and I am 250 turns into the game. I have a book of poems near to hand and read a poem while the computer gets on with it!

There are some issues that I do feel are a problem and that is the game is constantly flipping out, but this is a MIITW problem not a problem of the mod in fact since I loaded the mod I have less ''Fatal Errors'' so DLV 2.0 actually helps my game play. I hope the MIITW patch solves this flipping out issue as it is a bit of a bore.

For future versions of DLV can I suggest somethings? Less wealth for the AI, please more wealth on the harder settings for the player. I am currently playing on Easy/Medium and find that to be ok, on Medium/Medium it is simply too hard, God knows what the higher settings are like. Also I have yet to have a King that does not 'Inspire rebellion' or 'Offend the Nobility' I have never done anything to achieve these traits and cannot get rid of them so I would like these traits to be looked at in future versions, they are simply too harsh and arrive for little or no discernable reason. Finally, more factions please - can you incorporate the Flemish faction (as per an existing mod) and others - such as Burgundy?

Great work and really enjoyable, just waiting for the new patch and of course the next DLV update.

    All power to your elbow!!

Since starting a new campaign with the Scots (yay, so many provinces to conquer!), I have started watching DVDs on my laptop during the campaign turns on my desktop

Same here, although even that gets to be too much after 2 hours of playing, it just wears on me. I usually get out of the chair and do some push ups during a turn. I figure its a nice complement to me sitting around playing and eating sour patch kids.

I have a A64 3200 and 1gb of OCZ gold memory. Nothing crazy.
