installation nightmare

i've had no previous problems downloading the game on any other systems.
however, on this particular pc i get an error about half way through that states

Feature:packs
File: D:/main/packs/data_3.Pack
Error: Data error (cylic redundancy check).

i've updated my drivers and that did not help

any ideas on why im getting this would be appreciated

If the disk works on other machines, it must be the DVD drive or RAM. See if you can get something to test the memory (you can get a self-booting memtest CD-ROM free off the net to test the latter - not sure about the DVD drive).

thanks for the input but i have two disc drives and a little more than a gig of ram =/
sorry if im missing something here, im not the most technically intelligent people

hey i have the same problem when i try to install but the error message is just for a different data pack. what kind of dvd drive do you have? i think the problem may be with the dvd drive because i have all the requirements except my dvd drive is really iffy i bought it for cheap at some random store on the internet. it doesnt even say DVD on it but it can play dvd movies.

i had exatly the same prob when installing, i tryed everything everyone sed, nothing worked, the problem was my first cd1 disc was a little scrathed ( hardly ) and that caused me to recieve the error message, luckily i had a friend to make me a copy of the game so, i f i were u , if u have same problem, either download Med2, try and get another copy from the people who make teh game.

no its not the disk for me because i tried installing it on my friends computer and it worked. might be my dvd drive.
