Default King breeds civil war trait question

My English king, William the Bastard's son, managed to land this trait (I forget the exact language). Pity the poor fellow just died fighting against long odds in Ireland.

Nevertheless, before he died twice full stacks appeared near London led by some guy named Waq the Whomper or something like that, and marched on my capital.

Were those actions the result of that trait? Is that what's meant by "civil war"? I was expecting one or more of my generals to rebel.

    Thanks for the clairification.

Same thing happened to me, got the inspires civil war trait for my 3rd english king, and full, experienced, well equipped stacks of spear militia and longbows, with some knights and peasants, show up outside london led by wat the mauler, (this happened twice), and attacked london, but my generals who had the "Rebel!" and "You are NOT my king!" traits did not rebel for a good few turns.

I tried role playing with them and leaving one of the rebel characters in the southampton castle, the settlement rebelled but he didn't, so i loaded the game back to before he rebelled and put him in the field with another potential rebel, this time they did rebel, but did not raise an army or recieve any additional troops, which was dissappointing.

Would like to know how to get rid of that trait, i killed all the rebel characters, was not bankrupt or anything, just wondering how you get rid of it.

I sent my guy to Ireland and sent him alone against 400 or so "brigands." Actually, he took out quite of few of them.

I know that was gamesmanship, but what the hell given one's inability to play a real-life option--assassination--the traditional way to get rid of loser kings.

    quie a nice way
just eliminate the French, Scots (if you play the England ) then give your king their crown, you'll see no problem with their authority= no more civil wars
i just finished my english campaign and now start a mongol one, it's been quite easy, no more problem with the outfield army system cost ,70 turn and all europe, half of Byzs lands included are mine , now the Turks, wait there for me ,i'm coming ^^
