    Default Population growth always 0%

This seems to have happened in all my cities and castles now, i get to a certain point, and my population simply doesnt grow. It gets stuck at 0% and refuses to budge.

I've looked at my settlement details and i think it might be the large amount of squalor, even tho i have all buildings and governor with 5 chivalry, it still stays at 0%

is this a well known bug?

Well once you get to a certain population level your settlements wont' grow. This generally happens late in the campaign, but it does happen.

So it is a bug then? Because i cannot get a fortress, or citadel, or the larger versions of the city due to this. This is very limiting to the game for me. Its happening for every single city.

Is there a way of adding a population growth bonus to building such as markets and churches? The game has become unplayable because of this

So what date are you in the game? Because i always end up with citadels/fortresses/huge cities at some point and your the first person to report this particular problem. Do you have any other mods installed? Have you made any chages of your own?

I'm at around 1230 tho i think the lack of growth seemed to start around 1160 ish. I noticed in my game as HRE, controlled whole of italy, and all of my cities were at 0 growth, the only one that had any growth was venice which had been wiped out with a plague.

I havent installed any other mods or made any changes myself. I noticed nobody else had reported it.

Yeah faction growth will start to slow down about then, but usually you should have enough population to upgrade to the highest level settlements. Population growth is very difficult to balance, as either its too high and you get thing too fast, and things grow constantly, or you have it low and slow but it runs out at some point.

I'm not quite sure why its slowed down so soon on mine then, i've got 3 separate saved games and not one castle or city is larger than a large castle (whichever tier that is), and by this point the cities are at 0% growth.

This means i cant get any of the higher level units or buildings. Has nobody else experienced this?

Did you update the Ultimate AI mod? If so there is your problem. The updated mod reduced pop growth to a crawl.

to be honest i'm not sure, i just downloaded the lands to conquer mod, didnt try and add anything to it, change anything.
If this is the problem, what would be the way of solving it?

Also i've tried taking screenshots, but i dont know where the game is saving them on my computer, wheres the default place?

I wish I had experienced slower population growth.

My castles and cities are almost always maxed out before 1250, therefore once gunpowder is discovered I'm ready to pump out Muskeeters by 1275.

I don't see how mods with one year per turn can properly balance population growth and I definately don't see how ones with half year turns can, seems to screw up the mechanics of the game, which is a shame because one year per turn is ideal to me.

You can increase population requirements for citadels and such from settlement details.

Medieval II Total War\tga. You need a program capable of opening .tga files to view them.

ok so heres some images for you to look at:

it shows that almost all my cities have 0 growth, as well as having massive amounts of squalor.

Try reducing the level of taxing in those cities. That has always worked for me when I experience 0% population growth. I agree with Lusted; normally when I have low growth, it's after I have citadels/large cities, which is around the time you are.

well as you can see, all those cities are on low tax, its not going to get any lower than that.

so nobody has any solutions to this problem at all?

Probably won't make any difference, but try ticking auto-manage & putting it to growth.
