Do you know those horror freaky films that occur on the USA about those killers and that stuff? Then, Chainsaw Massacre in Texas is like a must-see for horror film fans. The character Leatherface is really well known. Its aborigenous mutilated style associated with his chainsaw scares most people and makes him a well known horror icon.

If you guys know these film series, where you can find more information about them here -->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ed5lDfOutw4 in case you dont know, can you clarify me, what's that character that also has a similar physical aspect to Leatherface but that wears a hockey mask?... I think he also uses a chainsaw.

Basically, there are a lot of films on these Chainsaw Massacre in Texas thing.
Next, if you are still interested to spook yourself, if you don't know these films, I'll show some examples:

    The original Leatherface:

The group that was all killed, except Erin interpretated by Jessica Biel; this was in the film Chainsaw Massacre in Texas 2003:

The Sheriff from one of the films:

I'm a huge fan of the original TCM. I love it. It has a gritty, documentary feel to it almost, very disturbing. These remakes/prequels that have been coming out suck really really bad though. All hail Gunnar Hansen!

I'm gonna get shot for this but I actually liked the remake more then the original.
The original gave me such a headache.
So annoying and overrated movie it was.
    The sequel was even worse.
The remake was less annoying to me and overall enjoyed it more.

*Loads pistol* Heh j/k. Everyone is entitled to his opinion. When it comes to this though I could not disagree more. The remake felt like a music video, the original was horrifying. (in a good way)

The sequel: TCM 2 was directed by the same man, Tobe Hooper. It's one of the few horror comedies I actually enjoy. He knew that no matter how hard he tried he could never create a film as terrifying as the original, so he took a completely different approach. Plus you got Choptop baby...oh yeah. Bill Mosley rules.

Well tough not to like a movie where Jessica Biel is running around in a tight tshirt The original to me is a horror classic though and while the remake wasnt horrible the gritty feel of the original is just something that cant be recaptured or outdone.

I just watched like the 2003 version of Chainsaw Massacre in Texas... Jessica Biel was really sexy, too much, I'd say
Anyway, do you guys know what's the true story behind the films? I can't find that on wiki...
I've only seen the 2003 version yesterday night when I rent the film.

I read somethings up about ed gein and it was disturbing mainly due to his mother not letting him develop a social life and pouring scalding hot water on his genitals.

    Here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Gein#Films

There are many serial killers in film that are loosley based on Gein. Basically he made suits and masks from his victims, along with countless other disturbing things.

And if you've only seen the remake. Um, erase that from your mind and rent the original. It doesnt have all the bells and whistles of modern films, it's just raw and f'd up. The original is a true horror film, a classic. It's the type of film that makes you feel like you need a shower after watching it, very unsettling. And that, afterall, is what a real horror film should do. "Last House on the Left" also has this feel to it. But I'm an old school gorehound so...

    Read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tex...n_Saw_Massacre

Nitpick: it's actually Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

    Jessica Biel was really sexy
That goes without saying. She's got some of the biggest natural tits in Hollywood.

    too much, I'd say
Impossible. When it comes to chicks, there's no such thing as being too sexy.

Anyway, do you guys know what's the true story behind the films?...
Just look up Ed Gein on wikipedia. The insane murders he did were pretty much the basis for Psycho, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the Hannibal Lecter franchise, etc.

Well, as the saying goes: psychopaths aren't born, they're made. Through systematic abuse and neglect, their minds are formed to a state psychopathy. Same thing with Stalin and Hitler. An abusive upbringing really ****ed them up later in life.

The scenes where Leatherface is chasing the last girl through the woods waving his saw around are a bit absurd, like a Benny Hill sketch.

I found movies like this to be a tragic waste of time and film. They posses nothing tangible for the audience to leave the theater with. They are merely trash films produced for the unthinking masses to consume with stupid glee.

I have never seen a film like Texas Chainsaw Massacre that didn't disgust me at its complete worthlessness.

The remake was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The original was much better. However the original was also utter trash.

I highly contend that this thread belongs in this forum. Texas Chainsaw Massacre is not art. It is filth.

I didn't mean to offend anyone and if I did, I won't bother either.
And visigothe, these films aren't rubbish, those p*rn films and that stuff are rubbish, so if even some people have nudity has a concept of art, why horror can't be one of those forms of art?...
Ah, and last but not least, if you already know you don't like these film series, you shouldn't even bother yourself coming to this thread!... Wasn't it a waste of time for you?... Well, next time, try to predict your problems.

I feel glad most of you apreciate those parts where Jessica Biel is wearing a tight white shirt. It's even better when she's at Leatherface's cave (can't remember the definition of it, in portuguese is called "sotão"), with the shirt wet

Ah, and thanks for you guys answering me to that question about the "true story".

Sometimes I'm tempted to see it, but I recognize it hasn't any beneficts at our society, it just decays the concept of love in a certain manner.

Btw, MaximIlian, do you like Chainsaw Massacre?

I think I've been using too much smilies, I'll try to reduce their numbers, hehe.

do you realize that you have to practice making love with yourself first before you can be good at making love with someone else? Porn and  arent just recreational, the'yre necessary for the growth of a healthy, sexually mature adult.

Actually, R. Lee Ermey did a great acting job in my opinion. (in the remake). Sure Jessica Biel is hot, but casting someone like that in a remake of the king daddy of all horror films just didnt work. Horror films are supposed to horrify and/or disturb. She just made the whole thing feel even more like a cheesy Mtv video.

Using unknown actors usually is a smart move in horror movies. You just dont want the audience to be thinking: "Damn. I wish Will Smith would grab that machete!" If the audience doesnt recognize a "brand name" actor, they are more likely to identify with them. Then the horror element will grow from there.

It seems that this thread turned more into a Jessica Biel's fan club than to talk about the chainsaw massacre films.

Anyway, hope there'll be more out there posting here
