    Default Changes

We've been having a real hard time with balance and the economy because of the two maps in RS, so I've decided to replace the Mundus map with the big map for this next patch. However, we're working on the Mundus to enlarge it and expand it further east so we can include Bactria. That won't be finished for this coming patch, but will be in the next one...assuming we can get it working. It will in essence be a 'new' map.

The other thing that's troubled RS from the beginning has been unit balance, so we have a fellow working hard on that now, and that's the delay, for the most part, in getting this done. I'm sorry it's taking so long, but we're working every day on it, so please bear with us.

While I'm waiting for that to be done, I'm adding (or hoping to) the next batch of new units that our master skinner Tone has come up with for Iberia and Carthage.

I hope those who really liked the Mundus map won't be too irritated by this change. However, our desire is to provide a larger scale map that has a better area of coverage in the east...and larger maps just plain play better in our opinion.

Well, what will be released will not be patch 9, but patch 10, and maybe patch 11. The reason that this new patch will not be patch 9 is that we found many bugs in the recruitment system that did not allow some cities to recruit units under the Free People, and some various other things.

Well... that will stop us from decideing on what map to use.
I do enjoy a more historical map with more cities and other things that can be added. I do also enjoy the time to build without fear of being hit from 3 locations which happens on the MM. Hopefully on the big map you will add the same eastern regions? And add a India AOR for their cites?
Thanks for the update DVK, Tell your boys to take their time this is
going to be the best modd. Unless you dont have my jewish Reble Merc. lolol
And World wonders on the battlemap!!
About the balance please keep the romans as close as a ture power in the west
same with Seleucids, ( Like how meny empires were there? A know alot of kingdoms.
but iam sure you will still give the romans and seleucids that advantage?

Unfortunately changing the maps isn't that easy, we can't just blow up the mundus map because of CTD issues (there would be too much water on the map), and the big map can't be extended to the east because its already at the maximum map size. So we're trying a different approach.

I want to assure everyone that if it is a big problem not having Mundus, I'll put it back in later. But for now, it was just causing us too much trouble to get things done. We need to focus on getting RS playing well, and being the challenge it was supposed to be. Patch10 will be what we want, I believe.
Plus, Carthage, Gaul, Dacia, and Iberia will have all new skins!

I'm having more than enough fun with RS as it is now!
My only concern is you won't be able to make RS even better

I think a big reason the Seleucids are monsters on the Mundus Magnus is because you have given them Cilicia and Pamphylia in Anatolia. I believe that if you give these provinces to their rightful owners, the Ptolemies, the Seleucids will be severely weakened and will have a hard time holding on to its possessions.

P.S. Since the Mundus Magnus map is going to be temporarily removed, can you fix the province descrepancies on the Big Map? It's are kind of annoying when you see Assyria to the East of Babylonia and Sophene to the Southeast of Armenia and etc.
