How much has music influenced you?

Music has influenced me a lot. If it wasn't for music, I would probably be in my room searching for another light. I have been raised on music. I grew up in a family surrounded by music. Both my parents played an instrument, my sister plays the clarinet, and my brother percussion. I started playing the piano when I was 6, I now play the saxophone. Band has led me to meet the 'right' friends. I probably would be failing in school and be getting referrals everyday if it wasn't for music(I'm one of the smartest kids in my school) Music has taught me to have an open mind, led me to help express feelings of anger, happiness, sadness. It has led me to think and explore. It has led me to forming my own beliefs. If it wasn't for music I would either be dead from suicide, or really ****ed up. So how much has music influenced you?

It has influenced me a little but not alot.

More than that poll can really give justice... but I voted a lot anyway. It's changed me in many, many ways really. Too many to list to be honest!

Music changed nothing.

But i like a good musical score for good games. Generally game musics are awesome. And epic. And same forsome anime musics.

Music has a huge influence on me, and with some music it seems to feed my being as it were. Music can lift me out of depression, and make me happy. It can also cause me to think a lot.

Music . . . music allows me to survive from day to day. Music allows my mind to continue on further than my body can ever go. It may seem ridiculous to say this, but music lifts the soul onto a higher plane, into a place where nothing is wrong or right, but everything is visible, and you can look at it from a detached perspective and see what it means to you. Music lets you just sit and float away, without having to think; music, though it's vibrant and full of sound, lets you sink into a silence that no earthly noise can penetrate.

Music is the truest and purest art form. Music is the only thing that brings peace. Music lifts you from the depths of depression or the heights of hell. ****, music is everything. It is inexplicable and omnipotent.

In other words, I could not survive without music.

Good question... one I hadn't really considered until now.

Yes, music has had a profound influence on me and my life. I wouldn't be the person I am today without the music in my life. I love it.

i know some people who music is the thing they use to escape from reality or find motivation etc, but not for me, music has been helpful, it makes going for runs easyer and the right song can ulter my moods, so it has influenced me a little, but not alot

To me music is sometimes like a drug. For example, when I'm having a break at school most of the time I can't stand without hearing music, when I have my mp3 at hand... Lately I haven't been listening a lot from mp3 because it isn't good for my ears nor for others ears...
When at home, most of the time my only friend is loneliness. But music it's like a serial killer, that kills it most of the time [loneliness]. It comes and then goes. Comes again and goes again... And when I'm falling asleep, sometimes I want to hear even more music. I listen more to rock, indie, metal, rock 'n' roll, pop, metal, country, punk, grunge and ocasional stuff...
The strange thing, is that I'm those persons who at a moment seem to like something if I like it really much, I become adicted to it. It has always been this way. Some years ago, I was a fat-arsed boy sitting on front of a TV playing N64, now I go whenever I can, skateboarding. Some 3 years ago, I'd say I hate music, it's an useless expression, a decaying form of art, but now I'd kill a person who says that (conotative sense).
I played some instruments, but never knew much of music. Played piano for 1 year, flute for 2, and now I'm doing some percussion stuff. But I don't play these stuff seriously.

Music is an expression you can't turn into words. You need to make it, not to say it.

Music has made me disillusioned with society and the world. It also makes me happy when I'm down. Punk and Heavy Metal will do that to you.

Music is amongst mankinds greatest achievements. If all we were ever meant for was to make music and art, it'd have been worth it.

A lot. Music brings me through a range of emotions and helps fire up the imagination. Once, when I was really down in the dumps, I slapped on Oasis - Stop the Clocks. Cleared my mood right up; I had a massive energy infusion right through the ears. Up until a few years ago you could say I had a disdain for all but a few genres of music, but I started to broaden my horizons. It was a wise move. Music can really be a pillar to lean on when I'm feeling down, it lifts me up a little, and sometimes a lot. Dunno where I'd be without it.

One problem though, I'm so damn addicted to it I listen to it all the time, when maybe it'd help to lay off so I could concentrate. Meh, my schoolwork will just have to adapt or move over. I know where my love lies and it aint with schoolwork.

A lot. I love classic and instrumental music like Four season of Vivaldi I also love songs like "Adiemus- Enya" or songs of "Enigma".
Without music I will to go crazy...
I like to listen music when I'm running, when I feel that I am free...

I've gotten to the point where I can't really function without music in the background. When I do uni work, music is always there. My roommate is always playing guitar so I'm used to that as well.

Not to mention songs remind me of certain events, places, people...

I hear a song and picture a moment, for example when I hear "Ocean Breathes Salty" by Modest Mouse I think of my midnight drive up Highway 1 in California through Big Sur...the image will never leave my head, nor will the song. They are tied together now.

Another example is "Pain" by Jimmy Eat World. I don't particularly like this song, but somehow during the final sprint of a race it popped into my head. Now everytime I'm exhausted while running a race, it pops into my head, and I remember vividly that race.

Obviously, it's effected me a ton.
