Well, you have got what can only be described as minimum specs. You will probably be able to run the game but only on low to medium settings which means it won't look as good as it should.

I will also add that anything less than 1mb ram may be a problem as most users report recurring unexpected crashes with less ram.

Your also cutting it fine with Hard drive free space. The game requires 11Gb but your computer will need some as a scratch disk.

If I were you I would consider upgrading my hardware before purchasing.

Off the cuff assessment... I would recommend against getting the game with those specs. You can play it, but you won't get to enjoy it the way you should. You might get frustrated because of the noticeable lag.

Try the demo so you can be sure how well your computer runs M2TW?

    1. Save the money and invest it into new hardware.
    2. MTW2 will not run away.
    3. The longer you wait the better the mods become.

well its ok its not the worst it could possible be. The Ram is ok i have 512 and it runs fine just a bit slow loading up some battles. CPU needs upgrading 1.7ghz in no where near enough for this game to go well. As for the gpu its better then mine and it should run in medium.

You are going to probably have lag on the minimum of settings. Seriously.

And with that CPU I wouldnt hope for large unit sizes. I have an A64 FX-55 2.6 ghz and I stick to normal unit sizes because of lag with large or huge. I would reccommend not getting this game until you have a much better computer at some point. Stick to rome or MTW1

I'm sure you should be able to run it with huge units with that CPU.

Yes I second this, my Athlon is running @2.8 Ghz and plays on max settings nicely(the 200hz difference is nothing).

Either you set up is poor/you have a problem, or you hardware is lacking somewhere else(try ram or graphics). I have 2 gigs ram and an ATI XTX1900 512DDR.

Well I tried playing a custom battle with huge units, pitting two full stacks against one another (4000 men total), and with all settings minimum except resolution of 1280x1024, and it was lagging. Perhaps something is wrong?

I have an X850 XT 256mb, and 2GB corsair ram. When I play with normal unit sizes I can have 4x AA and medium of all the other settings and it only lags when Im looking at all the troops or when Im fighting a siege.

I am running the game on my laptop, normal unit size, all details on minimum, but blood turned on.
    IBM T42
intel pentium m 1.79 Ghz, 512 MB RAM, ATI raedon 9600 (somthing like that) 64 MB video card.

*It is not pretty* but it runs and can handle 3 full stack armies in open field battles.

I get lag in siege battles when the enemy rushes all its forces through the gate and the first time I turn to watch the settlement. The game has crashed a few times - because of the drivers for the video card (which I have not updated).

My feeling is the video card is the weak link, although I understand the unit size issue is mainly a matter for the CPU.
Try turning the res down to 1024*768 and upping the graphical game settings and then using huge units.

I cant turn down the resolution cause it will look horrible on this LCD screen. The screen cant go higher than 1280x1024 and looks terrible on anything lower. So thats why I stick with it.

Okay, I don't want to start a whole new thread, but how well will my system run the game:

    Intel 3.2Ghz CPU
    Geforce 7600GT OC
    1 GB ram

I'm expecting max settings, with shadows turned off.

I've got almost identical hardware and my comp is running M2TW high settings and large unit scale. (my graphics card is 7600GS)

I'm playing the game with Celeron 1.7, 1GB RAM, 256MB GF5700FX, both battle and strategic on 1024*768(I have good ol' 17'' CRT :-) Also I have x-fi which is helping a bit CPU.
I have most settings on low except for unit size(huge).
Vanilla medieval plays relativelly fine, but strat map on some mods(expanded map of Deus Lo Vult) is slower.
About battle map, I'm OK with it.
Of course, it sometimes degrades to sloow screenslide, but it is not that bad with this (kind of) game.

You can get huge unit size with a celeron 1.7 and and a geforce 5700FX? Wow, that's pretty good. I'm surprised the CPU can handle the game.
