ok just considering the billions of galaxies and within each galaxy there are thousands- millions of planets, and each solar system has dozens of planets. now just on the off chance that there is life supporting conditions on 1 planet in each galaxy( im sure its much higher). not to mention the fact that our ideas of what life-supporting mean ( as it gets wider and wider). to me, it says that the odds of life in this galaxy are absolute, there are just to many planets that would be able to support life, and to think that that where life can exist, it will exist. just ponder how many different earth type environments are out there, probably millions if not more, and there have probably been planets that have had millions of years of life on them long before it started on earth. so again your odds of intellegent life gets even higher. the odds are just inconceivible high, just because of the great expanse of the universe. im not even considering the hundreds of moons in each solar system, of which the possibilty of life in our solar system is pretty high on certain moons.
so basically if i were a betting man i would say
possibility of life in the universe= absolute
possibility of intellegent life = absolute
so whats your opinion?
