    Default BIOS update error

So I installed my new AMD X2 4600 and found out that windows did not recognize it. I was told to update my BIOS and I tried but failed because of an error.

    Here are my values:

Translate the error message for me?

I have a similar problem, i am using a DFI NF590 board with a 4600+, and windows wont detect the CPU, i updated the bios, but it didnt help. I think the problem lies with using a customized windows CD.

I'm going to assume that you totally f'ed this one up and have to start over..

Get a hold of the older BIOS version, you want to start clean.
    Create a boot floppy with:
    Code:
    FORMAT A: SYS
Move the older BIOS and the Utility to your new boot floppy.
There isn't much point to a backup now.
Now power down and restart, booting to the floppy (Put the floppy right in before you boot)
At the prompt type the name of your executable utility
    Code:
    A:\>MYEXECUTABLE.EXE
Do what the utility tells you.
Try not to do anything too stupid. At least now Windows is loading, screw it up twice and you might not even get that.
    Now reboot.
    See if it works.

The ... has detected an invalid instruction, thats the translation of the second line; the third line is of no importance.

    okay.
It may be helpful to someone more technically inclined, btw.
