EDIT
I am presently making a warband for Wales.
This is very early stage of development on this unit (i just threw it together). I am thinking that I will replace the mace with a small axe.

"There is a difference between what is wrong and what is evil. Evil is committed when clarity is taken away from what is clearly wrong, allowing wrong to be seen as less wrong, excusable, right, or an obligatory commandment of the Lord God Almighty.
Evil is bad sold as good, wrong sold as right, injustice sold as justice. Like the coat of a virus, a thin veil of right can disguise enormous wrong and confer an ability to infect others."

Hey...I have a name you need to add to the list.Taran. (My name) Its Welsh, so no worries. Means Thunder.

Yay, you got the banner!![]()
I had a little change of heart on the Welsh...
Since you are giving Carracks to Ireland, don't you think it is fair to give them to Wales also?
Another thing, I would change the name to just Cymru, as with several other factions. (Pisa, etc...) Just to make it a little simpler, while still giving that feel to it.
Another thing, I know you said you could upgrade all the units to plate, but I think it would be good to have at least some sort of plate armored unit that has plate from the start. Like Plate Spearman/Pikeman like the Scots.
Another thing, should add crossbowmen and mounted crossbowmen, along with feudal knights. (for at least some sort of decent knight...)
Good job on getting the avatars in there, though.
The gam e is about rewriting history, don't you think they would use plate as the ages progressed? I mean, if they weren't wiped out by the English, like what happened historically.
I don't know about this. I never intended to make Wales very strong. In fact, my intent, if you recall, was that they be strong enough to withstand the English to a certain point. I never intended for them to compete. I'm not saying that I want them to be helpless, I'm just saying that I want to keep close to reality. that said, there is not one plated Irish unit, but there should be, historically. I'm trying to acheive historical balance, not fairness.
Let's talk about it in the Dev Forum.

Hm...I suppose "Garth Celyn" would be better.

The teulu helms are too conical. personally i would design them starting with leather armor, a cloak, perhaps a coif of some sort, a long sword, a larger round shield, javelins, and a spear.
the welsh would have typically worn linen shirts and drawers, and would have covered these with a woolen cloak that hung down to their knees.
to have plate clad welsh units would be a huge historical inaccuracy for any period before c1200 i would say.. even mail was rare until the latter 10th-11th centuries, id keep the welsh light, fast, aggressive, skilled ambushers, and with good light infantry. spears, swords, and bows would be the most common weapons.

This is true about the helmet and it is something we are working on. By this time, the Teulu wouls have been wearing chainmail.
This is true of most units, but it is difficult to represent. bear in mind, these screens are a first attempt.
There is not one plate armored Welsh unit on our mod...perhaps some could upgrade to plate late in the game, but there as of yet, there are none.

im sorry, actually, im not even awarte of the time period of this mod, if it is c12-13 then the teulu could most definitely be in mail. Im a historical advisor for the celtic factions right now for WotN and its in an earlier period, mail would have become more common place in the late 11th to 13th centuries.

I have updated the first post to include units screenshots, including a revised Teulu unit (I reskinned them and removed the pointy helmet).
