I have a problem with a friend

This is a rare occurrence however I will avail myself to the community here.

My friend Tony who I have hung out with in quite some time is a very interesting person. Yesterday was his birthday and he called me at 11:30 pm to hang out and drink some beer. I went over to his house and we watch The Departed with his girlfriend.

However after the movie was over and she left he did something he has done before. He came onto me very hard. He really wanted to ummmm have sex with me. I am not homosexual and he is a very good friend. I have no idea how to reject him without hurting his feelings. I was very uncomfortable with him after his girlfriend left because I had no idea how to respond. The last time he did this I was very drunk whereas this time I had only had 7 beers and was very well whatever.......

Anyway I know there are a few people here who might have suggestions.

You know, it's not a bad thing to be loved, and your friend isn't to be shunned. Honesty is best here, without employing drama, I'd just talk to him in a private moment and be completely open, saying that his friendship was important, but that you are simply not homo/bi sexual. If he is uncomfortable or hurt by this, wait a couple of days then give him a call and go out and shoot some pool or whatever it is you guys normally do. Be completely casual as if nothing happened. Remain his friend. I am unsure about most things in life, but friendship is never, never to be tossed away. If he puts the moves on you again, just restate that you're his friend but that your interests remain firmly hetero.
One thing I forgot to ask; is he closeted or open? If its the former, he may really need your help. Hope everything works out for you.

Actually, to be honest what he did is wrong. Hell, I'm bisexual and none of my real life male (or female for that matter) friends have a clue. And thats honestly insulting to me what he did, tell him no means no.

A true friend by definition is not one who does this kind of thing.

If you don't want to hurt his feelings then maybe explain that you only like to do things you have a passion for and that being bi is not one of them. Is he really intersted in having sex with someone who finds the idea repulsive? Surely he should seek out someone who feels the same way. If he cannot accept this logic then that tells you even more about his true inner personality. He might not be as "nice" as you think.

This guy may be misinterpreting your lack of hostility/whatever too. He may even be living in some dreamland where he thinks you really want it deep down.

Being gay, or bi, is not in my view a problem and some of the nicest people I know and have known are gay or bi. Forcing yourself on someone else is the problem.

Many people hate gays and yet if they were lying by the side of the road bleeding to death I bet they wouldn't ask the medic if he was gay. Hating gays just because they are gay is not logical. It is antisocial BEHAVIOUR and THINKING that is the problem.
