help please

ok I just got rtw gold edition and tried the mod to unlock all factions. Before this the game would run fine but after I did it the game would boot me back to the main windows screen randomly but usually when I click a button(it was always different)like when sieging a city when I press continue siege it would boot me.And the "unplayable factions" like thrace or numidia when I try to play them as soon as I press the Icon at the choose faction screen I get booted, but this does not happen with all factions. Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

have you put -show_err on your shortcut? If not see here for instructions:

then please report what error message it gives you, if any.

when you said you tried mod to unlock factions, did you do it yourself or was it something you downloaded? Either way please check which version of game your Gold edition is running, apparently they can come either as patched to 1.3/1.4 or to 1.5/1.6 - launch game and open options menu and see what number in top right hand corner says. That could be part of problem as I think there are some relevant differences between the versions.
