Sap Points...

I was playing a battle today, specifically a defense of a city, and the enemy came at me with towers and a ram...it wasnt too long before my archers and guard towers caused them to catch fire and fall down but the enemy also had a sap point (the mining weapon to bring down walls)

Now, I've never noticed this before but you can target these sap points with your archers...and when you run your mouse over them they have a damage %...so I used my archers against it and nothing happened...they must've shot something like 85 fire volleys by the time the enemy brought the walls down...my question is: are sap points destructable?

From what I expierenced no, but have other people been able to destroy them? If so plz tell me how to

I've never actuly encountered AI with sap but no i dont think there destructible.

I remmeber I crushed one with a stray rock from a catapult, although this was after it was completed so it was pretty pointless. I don't know if you can destroy sap points with archers though.

With Archers, I am pretty sure you cant set ablaze the sap points. But a catapult shot or possibly infantry sent in directly will do the trick. I dont know though, I have never tried myself.

You can set them ablaze i did it with greek archers fighting the romans and i killed the entire unit they catch on fire and then the tunnel colapses

How long did it take though? My Greek archers, without exagerratio, must've fired something like 50 fire arrow volleys and nothing happened.

Uh they got to the wall and knocked it down to 40% health keep in mind i had about 5 units of them.

It only works with artillery, but wait once all of the sappers got inside so when the sap point explodes, the sappers "die" inside.
