Default Proposal to eliminate Curia Votes act

I submit the Curia the proposal that we be allowed to specify what we have voted in the Curia Votes act. I highly doubt that the intellectual citizens of this board are influenced that much by another user saying that they voted "X" to the "X" proposal. I believe that we are mature enough for this, as proven by the sheer amount of good content on this site.

what curial votes act? i believe you refer to Section 3 Article 2 of the Constitution... termed Legislative Procedure... all of the Acts were abolished during the reforms

and i'd disagree on the facts with your analysis.

We don't want another thread of debate, specially not in the vote. Personally I'd prefer to ban all posting in the vote threads in any way whatsoever.

Well yes, that would be the other extreme Ozymandia's which I would also support if it came to a bill.

Its also the more logical extreme, so why aren't you proposing it?

Explain to me the advantages of this change. I can see a reason for the status quo - convince me...

Well, as Grim already stated, the reason posts in the Curia votes thread are limited to only notifying that they voted is to stop another debate in that thread. The whole point of it when its in vote is that the debate is finished, it has got enough support to go to the vote, if you still dont like it, then simply vote 'no'; why create another debate?

But you are not creating another debate, you are just allowed to say that you voted yes or no, or in the case of Tactical's case, use pictures.

And people stating whether they voted yes or no could cause some upset, especially in the case of moderator ratifications, hence why in real life political votes are done in private.

And what benefit whatsoever does that actually bring?

I have realized now that I probably should of thought this out a bit more thoroughly. This was more of an impulse proposal than anything else and I should not have brought this up without a bit more researching.

    rofl

One to let slide off the front page perhaps?

I can think of no compelling reason to alter the current legislation. Perhaps the removal of all posting in a vote thread could have merit, but it is good, i think, to see people acknowledge the existance of the vote, and to show they have exercised their right to vote.

It is a shame that sufferage now attain by all citizens is not exercised by more than currently partake.

    Still nevermind...

I ought to make it clear - I am a mere member -admittedly one who pays the bills, but I would not veto this. I think it is a severe retrograde step, howver, but that is for the Curia to decide ultimately.

I still see zero advantages to allowing this change to take place (though Iaccept that scottishranger has withdrawn the proposal - or so it seems to me).
