    Default Boring Campaigns

Ok so what is the deal here; I play a bunch of campaigns, longest one is up tot turn 200, but I never have any of these exciting things happen. I usually play on h/h but it's always a straight war with me always winning and always on the offensive. I love to play as England, but I hate how they never get attacked. So people, explain to me, why is it that my campaigns are so uneventful? I mean the pope has never even taken another settlement than Rome.

How to make M2TW more eventful, or, LOL EUROPE BURNS:

As the English, make sure to take all northern coastal cities from Rennes to Antwerp to goad attacks from French, Danish, and HRE armies. Take sporadic cities and gift them to the Pope (try and have the gifted territories near the front line of your war between you and other powers).

Attack enemy stacks as they are close to papal armies to force the Pope (ally with him) to fight with you, excommunicating the faction of your choice.

Excommunicate in this way every other faction (skip one catholic foe in a row). Start gifting rich, hard to take, provinces to random factions that have nothing to do with the region (preferably Orthodox, Muslim, or Milan as they attack a lot).

Hold your few cities in the coast, or gift them all to the Pope. Sit back in the English Isles and LOL at the show.

So you mean to get those coastal reagions in the north, then get a settlement one down south of them and give them to the pope? You kind of lost me with your lingo. . . I just started posting on these forums today and pretty noobish to forums in general lol

Hahah, yes, plainly mean of a strategy.

Well OhOhIt'sAnArrow, you have it down so far. Take the northern cities (Rennes, Antwerp, Caen, etc.) to goad other factions in attacking you. Then gift one settlement nearby to the pope. Hopefully stack some armies close to a papal army, get an alliance with them, and get an enemy to attack you (or attack them if they're close to a Papal army.

This will force the pope, your ally, to join in the fight against your enemy, automatically excommunicating them of course. This creates high tension and every other faction is out to cleanse the continent of heretics and excommunicates.

goad a verbalization that encourages you to attempt something

It means you encorage them to attack you by doing agressive things so the A.I feels the need to do a pre emptive strike
