    Default Sit back and relax...

I've decided to change my gaming style:
I've decided to take a faction (The Spanish), Clear the Iberic peninsula from the moors and the portoguese, type the Toggle_fow cheat and... sit back and evolve
What do you think? will I have a chance?

    P.S. I'm using RTJ mod.

Depending on your strength, you'll hold out some time.

    No you will fail! .

But on a serious note, using the fow cheat takes alot of the strategies away from the game, because you can counter each army that comes your way.

I only use the cheats every 20 years to see how everbody is doing.

I did the exact same thing (minus toggle fow) and I was very advanced, rich and I was never defeated, but the Danes won, they achieved the victory conditions. That sucked...

This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action. It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder.

I tend to use this strategy. Too easy to win if you just go out blitzkrieging. Like your spanish strategy of securing an easily defensible position I will conquer a region around my starting area and then let the AI go at it.

But I throw in a twist. Rather than sit back and be bored for a hundred years I play "power broker".

What is that? That is creating alliances with factions you like and using your own personal armies to further their needs.

Example you ask? As Sicily I decided I would be Lord of the Med (keeps the naval battles which are BS anyways to a low) and let HRE be the Lord of Europe. So once I had the western Med secured I started fighting battles with the HRE (keep a stack next to their armies you fight together). Now 200 years in HRE controls most of western Europe while I control the Med and Iberia. Sure I will eventually have to wage war on HRE to conquer Europe but they will be a very strong opponent. Nice to set yourself up for a massive war.

I always thought about doing that. I think if your cities are weatlhy enough, and you have good enoguh trade you could at least keep yourself from getting annihilated if you built up those same cities

After 100ish turns I started, finally, to make some money and have a 2 or 3 huge cities.
The moors sit (stupidly) by their side of the Gibraltar strait and the Milanese which conquered all the southern coast of France are allied with me; the Scottish and the French fought together the English and defeated them in 3 turns!
The HRE instead is getting excommunicated 3 times a turn even tho they have the biggest territory, while the turks, that started really well, are getting crushed by the Egyptians.

Do you use the cheat to see the whole map? or do you just constantly get map info?
