A weird trojan?/virus?

Every (about) 40 minutes my computer shows this "dos" type of window (you know, the white text on black background) and it says something about irc, it disappears so quickly though that I haven't managed (yet) to press printscreen to capture it. I haven't noticed any other effects, but this is however very annoying since it automatically has a similar effect like alt-tab in most games, which means for me that I have to ctrl-alt-del oblivion every time this screen appears.

So... has anyone heard about something similar before and more importantly do you have know of some way to get rid of this plague.

Well, anti virus and anti spyware scans would be a good place to begin.

Yeah, I'm running spybot S&D right now. I have one of the best anti-virus/firewall programmes in the world so it's surprising that something like this got through it.

when did it start? because if it's not a virus you could just try reverting back to a earlier date using system restore.

I have something exactly like that!
Although it only pops up every hour or two....
I have a theory that I got that from installing a game called Roma Victor, although I actually like that game.
