    Default ShieldWall (Beta released)

    ShieldWall is my first mod that I have made for M2TW and at the moment it is in beta stage. The features are...
    - Added the shield wall formation for three English units.
    -Levy spearman (replaces schiltrom)
    -Welsh spearman (replaces schiltrom)
    -Armoured swordsman
    - My own battle AI which makes them more agressive, makes them hold back units in renforcement and also makes them flank more with infantry and missle cavalry.
    - My own campaign AI which changes their priorities for attacking other factions e.g. less likely to attack allies.
    - My own diplomacy AI which makes your decisons have less effect on the global standing of your faction (this will try to fix the problem of not being able to make alliances later in the game)

    This is only a small mod at the moment but if enough people like it I will add more features and fix any problems that I might of not found in my testing.
    Feel free to suggest any ideas or suggest any changes I should make.

    This screenshot shows the AI doing a mass frontal attack occupying my troops while they go on the flank with archers and cavarly...

    Update beta release
    I have finished the testing and have released the at current version 0.1beta of shieldwall
    I can not guarantee that it is 100% bug free but i did the best i could.
    Please report any faults or bugs with the mod and feel free to make suggestions and constructive criticism about the mod.

    PLEASE READ
    Installation
    -extract the contents into M2TW directory (usualy C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War)
    -move the .CFG and the lancher from the shieldwall folder into the M2TW directory
    -copy & paste the world folder from your M2TW data folder into the data folder of the Shieldwall folder

    finally i can use shield wall, that is my favortie formation, please hurry up and release it so i can play it tonight,

    What additional defence stats and such does it shieldwall give, and did you make it only for the english? either way i really want to use this mod in my game

    i apologize about the delay but i encounted some problems but will release it today, at the moment it is only for the english and the shieldwall makes the formation more protected from charges and frontal attacks

    ah sheildwall, good to see it again.

    have you added back in the shieldwall icon or just added the ability to some units?

    So far I've only added the ability for some english units to try it out and see how it balances but in later versions i am hoping to add a proper icon for it and maybe add it to more units

    There is a bug, when adding shieldwall as a unit capability to spearmen, guard mode no longer works.

    I have tried and tested this bug in my mod and I think I have fixed it

    i cant enterly remember but it was ethier replacing the schiltrim with the shieldwall or it was because i changed the formation size

    I'm not sure if I understand your question but i used the shield_wall formation
    I will also hopefully be releasing a new version when the patch comes out which should hopefully be this week

    You can easily change the shield was by going to export descr unit. I added shield wall to chivalric knights, mercenary spearmen, and armored sergeants.

    I am aware of that but thats not all I've done with this mod and in the next version I am hoping to make the AI use it as well

    Looks promising. Scots, Russians and Danes need this feature as well :-)

    Thanks for the suggestion, i will add the shieldwall to the Scots, Russians and danes in the next version which will be released soon

    Sounds also good. Just exercise some good judgment on which units you give it to - I'm sure posters here could offer some suggestions if at all necessary
