Im having this problem lately with my computer. It goes all smooth till it comes to the Windows loading screen, it loads till it gets stuck, then in a split second there appears a blue screen with something written in it and the computer restarts. Please someone help because im being driven crazy !!

    Blue Screen of death.
    Try testing your memory.
Download memtest and put it onto a floppy disk and use it to test your memory.

If it finds errors (and you have more than one stick of ram) then test each stick individually (by removing the other stick) to find the faulty stick, if both get errors then you almost certainly need new ram...almost certainly because it could still something else.

I concur with Aristocrat it does like bad memory is the problem here. However if you don't want to memtest on a floppy, open up you case and see if memory is split into two modules. If it is try taking one of the modules out and reboot your computer, if the same thing happens put it back in again and try the other the one.

It might slso help if you could wrtie down what the message says.

Well I think I found out what causes the problem, its the sound driver as it seems. When I uninstalled my sound driver I wasnt getting that blue screen of death, as soon as I installed it the computer started to crash like before. The point is I cant install any other sound driver than VIA VINYL AC'97. So either I use my computer without sound or I dont use my computer at all. Anyway I can change my sound driver ??

are you sure that none other exist? usually there are several versions, check if there is a new one out, and if you have the newest one, try to look for an older version...somewhere. You can also get a sound card, which will surely use a different driver.

I have understood what you've said to mean that the necessary drivers don't work, and that your system is fine without them, so it seems the drivers are what's causing the problem.

I doubt it's hardware at all, so just check the simple stuff like connections, chips that need to be reseated or something just as trivial.

If it's a stock card, then it is almost certainly not EEOC, but there's no harm in reading over your manual and checking if you need to remove certain drivers before you try something, or something along those lines. If you have tech support, I'd recommend you call them and ask them what steps they think you'd need to do before you install new drivers and whatnot.

It almost certainly looks like a software issue, so just boot clean and try again.
Put a floppy in A, and type:
    Code:
    FORMAT A: /S
Stick your floppy in and reboot.

Try and find the error message that Windows pulls up, it only costs a [nothing] but it does a million dollars worth of good for you. -sings-

If it is still being an *******, consider Highly portable Linux to see if it's actually Windows acting up.
If it is, check out your CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT to see if it's got some issues. Snapshot it with the "bad" drivers, without and with the outdated ones.

If you're decent with computers and you've recently added some hardware, check out IQR or DMA conflicts, though I'm not sure why the software would create it.

That's all I got, I don't have any specific help.
