Yes, although you don't need to install 1.8 if you're using the -mod switch version, since it's included.

Hi Quin Inuit,
I DID install all this the right way then, as I delienated it to you.......Good.
I found however 2 data folders:
A Data folder by itself in the Rome - Total War general folder due to copying RTW Vanilla.
A Data folder in the RTR: PE main folder
Is the info in the RTR: PE folder created by 1.8 supposed to be cut and pasted over the Data folder in General Rome- Total War folder or not?
I ask because this "might" be the cause of the regular and historical bugs I've posted in regards to the mod/switch version.
The EXRM folder is created automatically and as such I didn't touch it at all.
Should I?
Thanks again sir, hellas1![]()
Nope, every modswitch mod has its own Data folder with different contents. You shouldn't be cutting and pasting anything between Data folders. In fact, you don't even need the RTRPE folder to run ExRM. You can go ahead and delete it even, cause if you are running the ExRM, it's not looking at the RTRPE folder anyway. The only reason you have the RTRPE folder at all is because you installed RTRPE 1.8 even though it's unnecessary to do so. You can just go straight from vanilla RTW 1.5 to ExRM without installing RTRPE at all.
install RTW
patch to 1.3
patch to 1.5
install ExRM
That's all you have to do.

Hi Sheep,
Thank you very, very much for making things extremely clear sir!
Please could you post a BOLD sticky regarding how to REALLY install all this stuff?
Thanks again, hellas1
I hope RTR 7.0 is much easier to install than this! Lord Almighty!
I'm not permitted to make stickies here. I do wish that instructions were more clearly explained in the readme, but I didn't write it. HOWEVER, it does say right on the very first post of the official ExRM thread:
I says right there that you need to install ExRM over a clean copy of RTW 1.5 or BI 1.6, just like I said.To install, just download one of the link(s) below and double-click. It should automatically find your install directory, but if it doesn't just select it. It will then install the -mod switch version of RTR-PE 1.8 + the ExRM onto a clean copy of RTW 1.5 or BI 1.6.
I'm not sure how this is particularly hard to install. You install vanilla, patch it, open up the ExRm installer, and then you hit like one button. Boom, it's installed.I hope RTR 7.0 is much easier to install than this! Lord Almighty!
