Being British I grew up believing that we have the greatest sense of humour on the planet and that "Fawlty Towers" is the pinacle of said hilarity. I would like to lay down a challenge to find anything funnier anywhere else. Ps if you have never seen that clip before I hope you liked it and if you are German not offended too much. Please post anything that will make us laugh.

Hmm, sincerely, english humour isn't really good. I don't know much, I've watched fawlty towers but don't apreciate it much...
If you are speaking a comedy shows, videos or anything related to it then it's obvious that england has a lot of these things because it's a rich and developed country.
Anyway that clip of fawlty towers is actually funny. Another thing I like of the british humour is Mr Bean (Rowan Atkinson).

British humour is funny for British people. Every country has there own comedy that they appreciate.

I actually enjoy a lot of the American shows that are on channel 4 such as "everybody loves Raymond" and "King of Queens". I like the two mad old fathers that are in them. (Peter Boyle - Jerry Stiller).

Fawlty Towers is quite old now but it is still hilarious.

Is there one comedy moment that defines american comedy? I would say "Airplane" myself. It came out at the same time as "The Life of Brian". How great would it have been to see these two films back to back!

Sorry for taking so much time to answer this.
Portuguese humour isn't very well known, it's a bit uncertain... Our best comedians are: Herman José and Gato Fedorento (which is a group of 4 comedians, in which the best 2 are Ricardo Araújo and José Diogo Quintela)... There are many actors that aren't specially comedians but are funny, like for example Fernando Alvim.
I didn't answer well this question, but I can't express myself in english as in portuguese, so it's a bit more difficult to criticize portuguese comedy.

Crap. Except Gato Fedorento, they are the Portuguese version of Monty Python though lately they sold out a bit.

Anyway, my choice would be Brit humour.
    In my own preference order:

    Monty Python
    Blackadder
    Big Train
    Little Britain
    The League of Gentlemen
    and many more...

I'm actually Australian and I can't stand my own country's humour so I look to the British to entertain me.

I apreciate British humor. Green Wing, Absolutely Fabolous, Fawlty Towers, Monty Python and to some extenct Little Britain.

But I like Danish humor the most.

I always thought Aussies had a good sense of humour much the same as ours. It helps that we speak the same lingo.

I'm trying to remember if I've seen any Australian comedies, (apart from neighbours and home and away!) and all I can think of is "The Paul Hogan Show" many years ago.

I think Yiddish humor is by far the best...

Well, Canada's got some good humor, but Brit humor takes the cake for novelty.

American. Yeah, we get plenty of dumb ****** sitcoms like basically any on Fox, or really anything other than NBC(the one thing they do good basically, other than Conan) but we've got great Stand-up comedians, and we've got Seinfeld, that alone wins it for us.

    That was some sharp humor.

I like british humour. I like homour more than humor.

I also like my own country(Norway)'s humour. The concept of one of our shows (called "Team Antonsen") is being sold to channels all over Europe. But it isn't my favourite.
