I hate to discourage creativity, but I don't think this is possible at this time, since we are currently unable to edit the Medieval 2 .MESH files. There are some people working on this, and you can check out their progress at:

Thanks for your reply, it's a big problem.... also Mark of Chaos unpack tools is a work in progress. But when this problems resolved, i think the mod is possible. Everyone have a idea write it.

Dont do this, you'll get a lawyers letter telling you to cease and desist fairly quickly and probably mess things up for other people working on a mod using original content.

It's not that easy to get geometry out of a game, and even if you get the geometry out, it's often harder to rescale and assign correctly to the skeletons you have to use in M2TW. It's easier to use the existing M2TW groups for a number of reasons, the vertex assignments and weighting have been done for you, and importantly the lod levels have all been done - I haven't yet found an automatic mesh reducer that hasn't brought more problems than it's worth, and trust me - coming up with manual lod levels is a time consuming task.

There was a team that was working on a Warhammer mod for RTW, I don't know if they are thinking of resurrecting it for M2TW but if not, you could always start up your own team.

    Cheers

That would be great. There is a large team gathering up for a complete revamp of medieval total war2 into warhammer. They are here in my country, numbering up to 50( i think) and they got high elves, vampire counts, empire, brettonia and dark elves done. The animations are great, they improved ai, change the map and even added a very early alpha stage of naval combat. They should start posting once they get an early beta out. Meanwhile any inquiries on the game's features feel free to PM me. Please no how did they do that questions for I have noooo idea!

On Rome - Total War, I was on a team called zodiak-productions. We did a warhammer mod, but most stuff were never released. We only got one public beta released. I'm sure you can find it somewhere on some random site, just search for "warhammer - total war".

what? did games workshop really have a fit over that mod?

maybe if they were to hire CA to make a warhammer game for them they might actually gain a foothold in the market a warhammer game from the early warhammer world.

i bought mark of chaos and some of the models looked nice but the animations and gameplay totally flopped in my opinion.

does games workshop really get defensive about making a game based on their franchise?

a group of fans spent several thousand dollars to make a fan tribute movie to warhammer and w40k. after years of work upon completion games workshop said nope you cant show that to people. so now they are trying to alter it enough to not be sued.
