Hi there I been trying to DL the Patch(1v1) but some thing wierd all ways Happends First I try to DL it from Gamershell but when I unzip it and run the exe nothing happends so I DL it now from Gamespot but when it 99% an error comes out " Cannot copy mii2tw_p_update1_en[1]:Access denied.

make sure the desk is not full or write-protected
and that the File is not in use."



I do not know what hell this means so I tried to Dl it again and again but still the same thing so I tried strategyinformer still the same error... so is it me or the webpage? and how do I fix it.

Access denied sounds like you don't have administrator rights. (I just downloaded the patch here at work and it downloaded just fine and I don't have admin rights, so . . . )

The exe might still be running in the background. Check to see. If it is, kill it. Otherwise, reboot.

Umm, you might have to empty your recycle bin and/or the temporary internet files. There might be some sort of conflict there. Or in your temp files.

well error number one did not show up but two did how do you get the admistrator to allow the program to run?

Well, you should be the administrator if it is your computer. I'm at work right now, so answering this is a bit difficult (I have XP Home at home, but here at work we run XP Pro), so instead, I'm just going to give you links that may or may not help you.

Oh, and I downloaded the patch at work. I didn't try and install it because 1) I don't have the game here at work and 2) They'd fire me.

Just because I downloaded it doesn't mean I have the ability to install the program because of my limited user rights. I downloaded at work to check that the links were working.

What is the actual error you are getting now, since it's no longer a "copy" issue as you have the update downloaded to your computer?

every time I try to run it it keeps on saying "windows cannot access the seleted device or path or file. you may not have the appropriate permissons to access the Item" I am going out of my mind I check my Addmistrator profile nothing seems to be wrong I'ev rebooted my pc I checked my patchs for other games there working... well I'll keep trying thx for all the help

When windows is loading, press F8 and boot into safe mode. Then try the executable file. If the file works then you may have a virus. You may also have a conflict with any software you've installed recently . . . say a spyware or virus program. Or even a registry error (download a free registry cleaner, good idea either way).

Anyway, give safe mode a try. If it works there, then we can move forward. Just too many possibilities.

Sounds like you can download the patch fine, however you don't have permission to write into the folder where you want it saved (IE will download first to its "temporary internet files" folder and then copy the file to the destination folder). Have you tried downloading it to somewhere else?

If you think you should have access to the destination folder, then you can change the permissions of it by right-clicking it from Windows Explorer - depending on which version of XP you have. I'm not sure if "CACLS" works in both versions or not, but that would require command prompt, and it's not fun....

I found a torrent link DL it without any problems ran the patch it work so everythings fine now but thx for your replays anyway guys
