What do u guys think about a TW game for US around 1770?

Would it be cool if a total war game came out based apon the time period around the 1770's. Like American Revolution Total War or dsome thing like that but the map is the entire US? What do u think

i tend to agree on this matter. gunpowder seems to spoil alot of the fun in M2TW regarding sieges etc. Of course you could just opt not to build the structures to make these weapons, but if theyre there, people are going to use them. I personally just like trebuchets and archers

Everyone who says this has never played Napoleonic Total War II, a mod for Rome made by "the Lordz". The battles are more fun than the Med II battles, from my point of view.

Sabaku, only cause you don't like gunpowder (probably you're not gentlemanly and skilled enough for being able to command those glorious late 18th/early 19th century armies successfully) that doesn't mean that it wouldn't be a great game. (don't see this as an offence!)

I think 18th and early 19th century is the most exciting period in military history!!

I do. The Napoleonic age is perfect for the Total war formula.

I think its a good idea, CA should either produce this, or make a Shogun II: Total War, any of those would be good really....
A Rome II: Total War, while it could be very cool, I feel it is too soon from the first Rome: Total War to make a newer one in the same vein as Medieval II: Total War. I also want CA to take as much time as possible when making a Rome II: Total War, because if they released it that soon, it wouldn't be that different from what we have as Rome: Total War now, wouldn't it?

in terms of gameplay its best to pick a place where their where many nations in as small amount as space as possible with lots of fighting, europe provides a much more exciteing game play i feel as the number of factions you could have on a "north american" map would be rather limited (unless you made each indian nation a seperate faction)

i think it is worthy of an expansion

Nah, have a Napoleonic era Total War, but don't limit it to America, that would suck. You need the entire world open as a map so that mighty Britain can gain its empire in the Americas, Canada, India, Africa, Australia and all the little islands all over the place. That game would be massive and would take ages to complete, but I suppose they could let you choose a smaller area to concentrate on if you wanted a smaller game.

Why do anibody wants games based on the American continents, the great batles in hystory happend in Europe&Asia, and batlees in the XVIII century where simple, two groups shot at each other until on gave.

I don't think just an American map would appeal to the non-US TW players. Doesn't appeal to me, anyway... although the opportunity to keep control of America as the English sounds quite fun...

Too boring. Not enough factions, not enough territory.

This era is much interesting in Europe, with massive armies & battles. Think Seven Years War, Wars of Austrian Succession, French Revolution, Napoleon...

I wouldn't play a game like that, and I'm an American! Really, a Napoleonic era Total war would be ok, but American Revolution? Not enough factions, diversity, or cultures... Plus a limited time period...
