    Default Extended Realism mod bugs

    Hi XR team,

    Thanks for this mod!

I've installed it on my 1.8 mod/switch version.

I found 2 bugs already, Maybe you know how to fix them? Here they are:

    I. A certain unit was missing body parts, for example they had hands and feet but to head or body! The units in question were the Epirote hoplites? I think (the one's with the long spears)

II. The RTR visuals for Mt. Vesuvius, Mt. Etna, Po River, etc. were completely blanked out! I know it's aesthetic but maybe you'd like to know.

Otherwise, no probs on the mod/switch version!
    hellas1- Thanks again

    Hi XR mod team,

More bugs using the mod/switch version of RTR:

    I. Sound corruptions
II. Missing a file for a Greek general error show up and caused a CTD
    (It was the Epiros faction)
II. When customizing video settings, the settings DO NOT remain when you re-enter RTR: PE 1.8!

Hellas1- Not so stable with the mod/switch version

    Hi all,

I found a way to eliminate the customized video settings bug, IF you have that problem:

When you make you selections, choose CUSTOM from the list in the Upper Right Hand corner and save. This has solved my problem with video settings.

    Sound corruptions issue:
Have been almost resolved due to choosing CUSTOM in the video settings and then saving them.

    HOWEVER I FOUND ANOTHER BUG:
This might be driver related (It is a video problem):

When playing I found "lightbeams" that shined from a specific unit moving up toward me. This issue was mentioned before in a previous post and IS occuring with the XR mod. I never experienced this before installing the XR mod.

Lightbeams? Interesting. Which unit? That'll help me chase it down.

What sort of sound corruption? I've been playing it and noticed none.

What RTR visuals? Do you mean the natural disaster effects?

I'll check on the Epirote pike and general units.

Edit: Yeah, there's been a -mod switch migration issue, I think. We'll work on that. Check the main thread for more details.

    Hi XR team,

Where does this fix go, folder wise?

Also, I'm not sure which unit had the "lightbeams" coming from it, I'll recheck but I am positive it IS a unit in the Epirote faction.

I will also find out which Epirote unit is missing the body, and head and hands, I think it was the Samnites in the Epirote faction as well.

Insofar as "Visuals" are concerned, When you choose Darth_Valley or Darth_Mountain or Mt Vesuvius, the choice's icon doesn't show. There is NO PICTURE of Mt. Vesuvius or what have you in the Icon box when you click the location when customizing battles.

Yes it is the Samnites skirmishers.

    Hi XR team,

The Other Epirote unit missing head, body and hand are the Pezoi (389 denarii)

Do I overwrite the file for the General's fix in XRM's data folder or in regular data folder?

    In ExRM.

As for headless units did you try to turn on "use unit shaders"?

Okay, I am testing it using the exact same installation procedure as you and I don't see any problems with those units. However, I do see that the pezoi have no bodies, as you mentioned way upthread. I missed that post before somehow. So we'll fix that. I also noticed that the Galatian legionaries are using the Roman texture when recruited by Galatia. But I don't think that would cause what you are seeing with them, because the Roman texture works fine, it's just the wrong texture. I'll fix that too though.

And I am not sure what you mean by "lightbeams" either, honestly. Can you attach a screenshot maybe?

    Hi Sheep,

By "lightbeams" I mean that when you have an overhead view of a unit, let's say the Pezoi, for example, rays of light come from the unit as you move by it overhead. These rays of light "emit" from the unit on the ground, upwards!

This bizarre phaenomenon was posted before either in RTR: PE under the bugs, glitches,...blah blah thread or EB's bug list. I'm almost certain that this issue is in RTR: PE's bugs, glitches, etc. thread.

Sorry, I don't know how to post a screenshot!

Hit prtscn when it's happening, then leave the game and open up an image editor and hit ctrl-v. Then upload the image to imageshack.us or something and post the image link.

There are other ways to do it, but that one is pretty straightforward if you've never done it before.

You don't even have to upload it anywhere, just attach it to your post.

AoR Pezoi have been fixed, btw.

Looking forward to the patch, sir!

Check out my Historical battles post please for feedback!

BTW, I reinstalled the XR mod and the "lightbeams" issue is gone...weird.
