    Default Beginning of wars...

I don't know if it should be here or if there is already a thread about it but:

Which causes do you guys think that start wars?

I believe wars are started because of:

Religion - look up the Crusades, Israel vs Palestine (I think)

Power and Wealth - look up Rome, Napoleon

Forms of Government - look up Revolutionary Wars

Cultural Difference - (I know there is one...)

That's all I can think of right now.

    Power and Wealth
I'd say the list could be reduced to these two things.

Men always covet what others have... If they can't buy it, they'll take it by force...

War instigation could be broken down to one word... greed. In one way or another every war has begun because of someone or a group of someones and their stringent greed.

Greed isn't always a bad thing, fortunately.

I would concur though. Power and wealth drives most men, and most orginizations driven by men.

ah yes wars, we will never see an end to it. Unfortunately in order for the earth to be at peace is for one country to take over all of them. That day will not happen in our lifetime. If it does, "wow thats a lot of meat"

In cultural difference, Racism would be a good choice (Nazi).
There are wars that are begun by religion and finished be money (America(money) vs Iraq(religion)).

No. Never. I'll leave John G. Stoessinger to explain this one.

While aggression may be inherent in us all, war is learned behavior and, as such, can be unlearned and, ultimately, selected out entirely.
There's more but don't have time to write it. This is from "Why Nations Go To War"

Cultural difference is mostly like civil wars (if speaking of politics).
I don't know probably Religion, since I always hated it, lol, and also Power and Wealth which are still the permanent reasons for war.

I'd like to say there shouldn't even exist reasons for war. It only makes us go slower in time.

Although we often hear the phrase "religion is the cause of all the worlds problems" thrown around.I would say the vast majority of the worlds wars throughout history have been waged for other reasons.

Trying to distill the causes of wars into a simple answer is missing the point. One could aslways give vague answers like "power." But the real question is how combatants preceive power. How has the understanding of power changed. How has it stayed the same?
As a teenager, I was taken to various houses and flats above takeaways in the north of England, to be beaten, tortured and raped over 100 times. I was called a “white slag” and “white ****” as they beat me.
