Do you live by your own values?

I believe in energy conservation yet drive a 4x4 have TV's all over the house, two computers and many consoles. I recycle, but not as much as i should, i feel an affinity for animals yet don't mind eating them and i care for nature but don't mind buying the products with too much packaging or that will only last ten minutes before going in the bin. Towards people too i tend to go against my own principles, past adversaries don't get forgiven, i shout at my kids and treat women badly often referring to there conversations as inane.

We expect the world to be put to rights yet don't even do our own part according to our own beliefs! .

Hmm values, I live by my own values; however, I am picky on who to show my values to. If I like the person, I show my good side (my intelligent yet funny side), or if I don't like the person, I show my bad side (a la ignoreyoubysnubbingalot).

Generally, yes, but not perfectly, because I'm not able to; my values are socialist, and its impossible to live by such values in a capitalist society.

Thats true ,for example i believe in Hard Work and Honesty and yet i cant commit Enough hard work,at least what i would define as hard work, i guess Hypocracy is a part of everyones life until you recognize it and do something about it.

I adhere 100% to my value system.

I would say I am constantly redefining my values. When I'm not, the existential concept of 'authenticity' keeps me in line.

It's a bit impossible nowadays for one to live by his/her own values...

I don't think I live... I prefer having fun sometimes to preparing my future career... life isn't meant to be easy, so I can't always do what I'd want to. I try to, but it doesn't fits inside my little head. I know that I'm not alone in this case, there are many people with these characteristics or similar to it.

Is it all down to us as individuals though? Yes we could all do more but we are far more limited than government and business, also sometimes we need saving from ourselves! we go to the shops and buy what we need, yet it all comes with far too much packaging and cheaper products last less and hence end up on the garbage piles, living for the present has its cost in future terms.

I have many values, but I didn't make them up myself. I have taken in Christian values for a long time now, and I must say, that nothing is really a matter of pure luck or chance, it is all of God's decisions.

Also, when you hear about that bad things are happening, that isn't from God, it is from Satan, or more commonly known as the Devil.

I try to live by my vaules as much as possible, but of course that is not always possible(eg not enough money to buy the fair trade/organic version of a product, so you have to buy the regular version instead).

In as far as I am able, as in when it doesn't endanger my personal safety and even sometimes then yes I do.

damn fair trade, we live in rich countries because trade is unfair! Seriously though i do too try to but fair trade and i'll only eat organic chicken whatever the difference in price.

Hmmm not really it just depends on what they are, I mean most of the values worth living to are easily attainable.

Supporting fair trade is OK but if it isn't within your means then that is not you breaking your moral code or not living within your values you can only do things relative to your wallet if its relative to your wallet size.

I try to, though as a Christian socialist in an agnostic capitalistic society I admit that I do find it very hard.
