    Default The Teutonic Order Mod latest version(V1.2) available...

    I just uploaded the v1.2 of The Teutonic Order mod there are many changes and bug fixed here is the complete list :

    v1.2 CHANGES

    -Teutonic strat banners(banners that the captain and general models are carrying) is changed from Saxon banner to the Teuton banner.
    -Now Teutonic Order starts allied with HRE.
    -Now Papal States is not overaggressive.(defends its own territory do not expand).
    -Changed the diplomatic demeanor of the factions against eachother.(Rival factions more hostile towards eachother england-france;friendly factions are more positive towards eachother.)
    -New campaign models for Teutonic General,Captain,Princess,Diplomat,Spy,Merchant,Assassin.
    -New Teutonic unitcards for spies,diplomats,merchants etc.
    -New unit "Teutonic Nobles" added,available at the military academy.
    -Armor upgrade available for "Teutonic Nobles".(from partial plate to full plate)
    -Changed the textures of the "Teutonic Knights" from being HRE textures to Teutonic textures.(for all 3 armour levels of Teutonic Knights).
    -Rearranged the availability of the units according to buildings.
    -In custom battle Teutonic Order units can be classified according to the Early,High and Late eras like every other faction.
    -Teutonic loading screen logo added.
    -Teutonic Battle UI logo added.
    -Changed the religion of "The Mongols" faction from Islam to Pagan.
    -Order of the Dragon added to HRE.

    v1.2 FIXED BUGS

    -Teutonic Strat banner and Timurid strat bannel alpha channels properly fixed.So no more sticker looking banners.
    -Teutonic priest displayed with the English priest model.
    -Castle-to city conversion and vice versa option being unavailable.
    -In the Islamic factions Saxon small logo displayed instead of Teutonic small logo.
    -HRE's "Imperial Knights" and "Dismounted Imperial Knights" using Teutonic textures.
    -Teutonic Order not being at war with rebels.
    -Hermann Von Salza name seen in other factions.
    -The name "Henry" can not be seen since it is close to the right panel.
    -Wrong unit info description of General's Bodyguard.
    -"Hohenmeister" in texts changed to "Hochmeister" which is the right meaning in German.

    I saved your file into a disk, and extracted all files into the medieval II folder. The problem is, I cant find the batch file, to run the game. Its not in the Medieval II folder...not even my desktop. I really need some help. Thanks.

    Did you use the Saxon slot for the Teutons? I'm trying to mod some pagan balts into the region, and I wouldn't mind putting your Teutons in as well (allied with hre, at war with Balts) but since I am using the saxon slot for the balts, if this mod does the same for the Teutons, I'll have to drop the idea, or rewire my pagans to the Normans to get that result (not to hard, as this is a wip for personal use). Thanks...

    So the saxonslot is the same as for the Teutons? Does the shield change during the game into a Teutonic shield? Its because ive seen in a screenshot of the mod a shield with a black cross and with background. Just wundering about it you know. Could it be that I did something wrong in the installation?

    Anyway, nice that you put the Teutonic order into the game

    Now only put Gdansk on the map, just above Thorn to make it more historic.
    Its a quit important city, believe me.

    What I meant was I used the free faction Saxons(which was only in the Prologue) to implement the Teutonic Order into the game.
    But with nearly every single detail the faction is unique like the other factions,with units,banners,diplomats,graphics,names everything...
    Well,there are a few types of shields that the Teutonic units are using.The Teutonic shields remain Teutonic and the others remain the same as well.
    Thank you I've always wanted the Teutonic Order to be in this game.

    Could someone provide a more detailed instruction set to set up this mod for the computer illiterate? I am not sure how to unpack the mod with the CA unpacker. I click on the mod icon and appears to launch the unpacker but after a couple of yes questions, nothing happens. When I open the game with the Teuton.bat file, the faction banner is where the Saxon shield use to be but it still says Saxons and has no faction description. What am I doing wrong?

    You got it wrong.You don't unpack the Teutonic mod with CA unpacker.CA unpacker is a tool within your mtw2 game that enables you to extract the files that can be modded.

    If you want to unpack those files what you need to do is to launch the "unpack_all.bat" file located in medieval 2/tools/unpacker
    That's what I meant by unpacking.

    After that just extract the "Teutonic Order mod v1.2 rar" into your ORIGINAL(not your mymod folder) medieval 2 folder.
    You may also launch the game from your normal medieval 2 .exe to run the game but a batch file is safer.

    So, if I download the Mod to my Desktop, I just need to move into the "Medieval Total War II" folder. Then run the "unpack_all.bat" file located in medieval 2/tools/unpacker and then extract the "Teutonic Order mod v1.2 rar" into the folder it is already in, "Medieval Total War II". Is that correct?

    Hi Gianpascal recently I've also been thinking about this.For instance,You will download The Teutonic Order mod v1.2,It will come with it own .exe and It won't interfere with the other mods such as Anno Domini,De Laus Voult.
    Thank you I am working on the faction of Jerusalem yesterday I've completed the whole unit roster added their unit cards and everything.There is still some work needed for the mod to be completed.
    And as you have realised now there is a new mod called "Clouds Across Europe" I will make a new mod by adding somenew things along with my other mods,and the Kingdom of Jerusalem,too...

    I still have the same problem. I end up with Teutonic shield where the Saxons was but it is still the Saxons and there is no faction description.

    I downloaded the mod.rar file and moved it into my MTW 2 folder. I ran the unpacker.bat file in the tools folder and then I extracted the mod into the MTW 2 folder. It replaced a lot of files to which I said yes to all but no luck.

    Download the text strings .bin converter and use it to convert the text files in .bin format(in packs) to text files.This will ensure for the Teutonic Order's text files to overwrite properly.Here is the link for its download:

    1. I used CA's unpacker and unpacked all the files with the unpack_all batch file.

    I see quite weird here is also my config file,the game seems to still read the vanilla text files somehow.

    I kinda get same problems...still it says that its saxon faction and unit descriptions are all saxon.Whats even worst, they speak english, yuck, i would rather they sound german or east european or something...

    Edit: After i made batch file of txt file as you explained above.So how do i run it exactly?

    Gazi Husrev-Beg these problems are all related with text.All the text is in the .rar but your game probably sees the text files from packs(.bins) instead of text files.
    So I suggest you download the strings bin converter it and convert .bins to text files.This should fix the problem(The bins are located in medieval2/data/text folder.It is here:

    For the Teutonics accent to be German contact the twc member Hans Kloss.He knows about it.I didn't dare to change their accent from English to German.Because it's a process you need to delete some files.
    But when I did all the music was gone.

    They are right and not wrong.But the game somehow still insists to not read them.That's really strange.I'll ask about this to Alpaca he's the one who created the strings .bin converter and I suppose he may know something.

    Have you tried the campaign_descriptions ?

    And also try to run it from medieval2.exe and not from batch file.See if it works or not.
