Whats up with the computer when it sieges? It never ever charges after it knocks down walls...why do I always have to come out and get it? It just stands there like a dumkapfh (sp?) bombarding me with artilary...how can I fix this?!

It's actually not a bad tactic to whittle down the defenders first with artillery. One option for you is to pull back your units. This normally makes the AI to come although I have seen the AI to move its artillery forward and keep bombarding till the ammunition ran out.
If you are not living on the edge you occupy too much space !
bah that sucks...makes sieges a long and boring process
Yes - I do not like sieges as well - they are just boring as you mentioned. Prefer to have filed battles

i dunno i think it adds to the suspense of battle
im playing the long road mod,and i was sieged by 2 jihad armies from both sides..
it took like 20 mins for them to finish bombarding my walls, i thought it was a bug or something that they were sitting there, then they attacked after my walls had vanished
at first i diddnt know what was going on,i ended up repositioning my army muliple times untill i realized what they were doing, and concentrated my forces at all entrances to center city
i think the bloody battle lasted just over an hour,i lost but what a blast![]()
Bombarding human controlled settlements with artillery is one of the more sensible things the AI does.
unlike: have a spy to open the gates, so you build 1 siege tower. You push the siege tower to the wall next to the gate you could just walk through. Then the line up all your infantry (15 units in some cases) so they go into the siege tower.
mean while the human marches a 3/4 units of crossbows / muskets out and lines them up and fires at point blank range at the neatly queued AI infantry.
The AI attack fails to take the wall, the units on the ground rout and finally the cavalry charge and get trashed.
This needs fixing.
IDk, they thrashed me pretty good in the siege of Genoa, I had four militia spear units, two merc crossbow units, a merchant cavalry, and 15 knights just garrisoned there coming from a battle in Milan against venice.
They got me good with a tower and battering ram, my archers failed to stop the ram, and so they were able to run my cavalry into the gates, overrun two spear militia units and the merchant cavalry pretty quick, and then my knights after that. I rallied a unit to try to stop them from getting to the square, and the two spear units I had on the walls were trapped and fought well, but were unable to go to the fight below. They killed about 200 enemy foot soldiers, but the overwhelming enemy cavalry bore down the survivors of my army pretty good (although the enemy general got cut off by my archers, who almost killed him) and the computer glitched and wouldn't let my men off the walls, so 100 men on the walls still fresh were unable to stop the enemy from taking the city. Talk about crap luck.
