Icon2 PLEASE COMPARE: My old Video Card vs. My New Video Card!

    Here we Go:

I bought an HP Pavilion A1420n with WindowsXP a few months back JUST to play Medieval 2: Total War. Little did I know that the video card sucked butt! I still played well, but not good enough!

Then I decided to get a new PC because this one keeps crashing. I'm buying it tomorrow. Its an HP Pavilion a1710n.

My old video card was an ATI Radeon Express 200 (the worst Radeon video card).

My new one is going to be an NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE.

So its basically ATI Radeon Express 200 vs. NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE.

How much better is the new video card better than the old one? Can I set my game to the highest settings now?

both are bad and will not run this game at an acceptable rate. You need to be getting at least a 6600GT and I wouldn't recommend anythign less than a 6800XT.

I'd say both aren't that good. I wouldn't trust the video cards in any Dell or HP computer that isn't specifically built for gamers and even then, it's not as good as pre-built.

Okay guys, what's a good video card for a good price?

Secondly, will Microcenter help me out with that sort of thing?

Seriously there is no poitn buying a new pc because the card in that one is poor, just buy a replacment card and fit it yourself it's really not that hard to do.

If the comp has no slot availabel for cards do not buy another Pre built pc just build your own, it's cheaper and much better.

Well since i don't think the motherbard in that comp has a PCI-E or an AGP slot sicne it's probably intergrated your still looking at a full build.

However if im wrong you can pick up a 7600GT for about £90 probably less if your buying from america.

Edit: ive looked more into the system and assumign this site is correct you have a pci-e slot available

This makes it possibel to upgrade, I recommend this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130062

Nah, I'm returning my computer entirely. Too many bugs, too many crashes.

I've re-installed XP, but the same bugs persist, its a waste, I'm getting a different PC.

The video card I'm thinking of is probably the 7600GS.

Will my local PC retailer upgrade my card in-store?
