Cavalry charging Archers

Okay due to the cav charge bug i find it almost impossbile to get a good charge on archers. The minute i come close they peel off and run away just enough that my charge barely affects them. I probally am able to kill maybe 15 of them with the charge. I could just bring a 2nd cav unit to charge the archers once thier engaged but i want a way to do it with just one unit.

Any kind of suggestions in taking on archers with a charge?

I hear the buggy cavalry charging/chasing will be fixed in the next patch. Until then, you'll probably have to stick with it :hmmm:

for an un-formed unit like archers, screw the "correct" charge, just double-click on them and charge like bandits.

that's what I do anyways. works all the time.

In my expirience, archers usually run away into the thick rows of spears behind them, so if I don't constantly micromanage my cavalry, they tend to get slaughtered by them.
Or, if I catch arrow-flinging bastards and engage them in mellee, after my initial charge failed coz of fleet footed footmen flee, guys with long pointy sticks usually get into frey before my cav can dispose of the bowmen, and then also have tendency to get slaughtered.

thats why i was wondering if anyone has a better idea on charging archers.
